Sept 2013 was the last great thunderstorm month in Seattle. 2015 also had a few gems, but not nearly as concentrated.

2013 was really good but August 2019 was the craziest thunderstorm that I can remember in Seattle.  Leftovers from a hurricane made its way up here and brought a couple evenings of amazing thunderstorms.

It was september 2019, but pedantics aside I remember that one vividly. Nearly got fired on the spot bc I dropped everything to watch it. Thank god for unions. 10/10 would do again

I had just moved to Bellingham, had ridden my bike to a party, and had just stepped outside.

“Is that lightning?”

“Yes, we have been watching it getting closer for some time now.”

“And me on my bike without rain gear. Have to leave NOW, bye!”

I floored it to the nearest bus stop as the thunderclaps got ever closer and louder, and sprinkles of large raindrops started coming down. Just barely made it to the bus shelter when all H-E-double-hockey-sticks broke loose.

One of the best thunderstorms I have ever seen in the PNW.

How much did that run you? We're thinking of getting some delivered for our garden.

I just priced getting five yards of road base for an upcoming -PDO paver project. Holly Hannah… It’s about 50% higher than last year at this time when we did the turf project.

$516 for 14 yards. Ouch! But it’s their organic “GreenBlenz” (they made it rhyme with their company name) mixture…My driveway currently smells very…Organic…!

I was in Bellevue, drunk off my a** celebrating my graduation the night that storm hit.  We were at Fogo de Chão when it rolled in.  I remember it well....I couldn't think of a better fireworks display to celebrate a goal that took 29 years to achieve.  My wife wasn't too excited that I was standing out on the sidewalk in the pouring rain staring up at the sky but I couldn't miss it!

Same thing being delivered here tomorrow.   Might have a decent weekend ahead!

Side note... you might want to tarp it because any rain will make it very heavy to move.

Yeah I thought of that after I had used my (I think) only large tarp for the soil to be dumped on! Though I might have an old tarp up in the rafters of my small shop. Need to look in the morning. Otherwise my tractor will be Getting quite the workout!
