Oh, you knew they’d make a move while Russia was getting all this attention.

The question is:   Are they positioning for Australia/New Zealand?

China is now threatening to invade Taiwan, there is a massive military buildup at the coast. The only reason why this is happening now is because China is also viewing Biden as weak and think they can invade Taiwan to get away with it.

Experts are cautioning that the west is closer to war with China than ever before.

China is preparing and wasting no time to focus on Taiwan and the US.

A Putin ally said that Taiwan is "On schedule" to be given back to China.

But they may have already invaded Taiwan if it was not for Russia's failure in the attempted takeover of Ukraine. China's fear of Russia's failed invasion 2.0 appears to be subsiding.

Why can't Xi and Putin blow each other up?

China could invade the U.S. through our southern border.

They have to get past Mexico first, but if they invade us, they would be facing an extremely intense barrage of weapons! They are too scared to invade us directly for this reason, and the Civilians may just literally wipe out the army by the slow weakening of them using general knowledge of the landscape and Molotov Cocktails! (It's illegal here, but in times of war, it can be used)

And how would they do that?  Cross an ocean?  Yeah, we'd send them to the bottom if they tried that.

We have so much geographic advantage compared to peaceful European or Asian countries.  Let's not forget that.

Empires like that of the United States are not in danger of being invaded or attacked by other countries directly, both Russia and China know that. Empires like this tend to crumble from within. The US is its own worst enemy. Generations-old ethnic/racial tensions, badly strained civilian-police relations, a hypermilitarized corporate-owned duopoly that has ruled D.C. since the end of WWII, budding fascist/authoritarian movements, worsening economic conditions for a huge segment of the population, etc. are all things to be taken advantage of in this case. It would be much more worthwhile for Russia and China to invest in any antigovernment movement, regardless of ideology, as long as it sows more discord within the United States and continues to rapidly fracture the state from the inside-out, as opposed to any head-on attack. If any insurgent movement becomes enough of a pain for the US government, that's when you start to provide financial and material support (especially with weapons if possible). Russia and China have either been very lazy in this effort thus far; their foreign intelligence apparatuses lack the capability to launch and sustain such an operation; or haven't seen any major opportunities to seize upon as of yet. They would need some number of allies in Mexico and broader Latin America for this effort to make any impact, however. Perhaps their allies in Nicaragua, Venezuela, and Cuba could serve as staging areas - who knows.

Think Timber Sycamore, but targeting the United States.

Totally agree.

Just wondering aloud, what if Russia or China actually attacked us?  Would it be enough for us to set aside our differences and be united?  Or are we too far gone?

Only time will tell if it ever happens, they are simply afraid of the nation that used to be divided suddenly reuniting to repel them!

A direct attack does run the risk of some degree of unification among Americans, although personally I think things inside the US would more or less run along the same course anyway. The US has a major advantage of total domination of land, air and sea of its own territory, a considerable nuclear arsenal and massive power projection capabilities - the US would very quickly take any war near its borders, far away to power centers inside Russia and China using "limited strikes", "covert actions", assassinations, and economic warfare (a favorite tool of the US since the 1970s). The US government would probably aim for regime change in Russia and China at that point. A full-scale mobilization of US forces would not be all that likely, although that would also depend on the degree to which Russia and China attacked the US. Not an easy scenario to fully plot out though, as not one of the three parties would ever accept defeat in this scenario once it has started and at least two are nuclear powers. Too risky for Russia and China to bother for now, especially as China remains an important trading partner with the United States regardless of politics.

So the U.S. is like that dysfunctional married couple that fights all the time but will team up and whup some a** if there is an outside threat. 😄  Sounds about right.

We're also unpredictable. Texas is a good example, they are generally mean to each other, but when a disaster strikes, they generally set that aside to help out.

Agreed again.  I was just being cynical for a bit.  We have a long way to rot before either of those countries become a legit military threat inside our borders.  I am not worried at all.  Russia is all rot, and China looks imposing, but they have some serious obstacles to overcome.  I am not sold on them being an actual threat to our status as the top superpower.

China may unfortunately rot away faster due to a much higher elderly to young adult ratio.

That and I am not sure the youth are going to stand for the oppression under Xi for much longer.  That COVID policy is nuts and social media is impossible to keep out entirely.

To compound the situation, Xi has a ticking time bomb with a Brain Aneurysm. He refuses to take modern medicine out of fear of it being laced to take him down.

Sounds like China's economy is starting to melt down.  That is in spite of hundreds of billions of our money flowing into their country to buy their inferior products.  Communism does not work folks.  They would be nowhere if not for our misguided dependence on their products.
