Tantrum?   Where?

Some of you just like to pretend as a form of entertainment for yourself.     My wife thinks I am bored... I haven't had much emotion at all lately.    Nothing to be excited about or look forward to.      The only time I even mention the weather at home lately is when we are going to have a rare nice day so she can plan accordingly.   Of course we are dealing with significant health issues on both sides of the family right now so the focus has really shifted anyways.  Not sure I could have even enjoyed a nice spring at this point.

Hope everything goes well for everyone Tim!

Stay strong!

Regardless of the decadal, very much righteous preference war that WILL eventually be won by someone, I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone. Just horrible.

Hope you and yours are ok. I know we roast you and give you a bad time sometimes but we're also human and you bring a fun vibe to the group and provide valuable insight and do a good job backing up your posts with numbers and maps. Wishing y'all the best.

EURO continue to live on the wet side of the model suites.

qpf_acc.us_nw.png

Yeah, for the last month or so the medium-long range has consistently been wetter up here than has panned out. I think mostly that's because the storms have been shifting south as we get closer. About half of the rain shown in the 12z Euro happens with a storm next Wed/Thur which drops 1-2" throughout the lowlands. This storm has been shown in the models for a couple cycles, but it's significantly wetter on the 12z and more potent on the Euro currently than the GEM or the GFS.

It was on the 12th day of some month... guessing it was a winter month.   That looks pretty wintry for Corvallis.

Only up to 49F here, looks like the airport has been hovering there. Wow, it's gonna be incredible if we can pull off a sub-50F high in mid-May lol.

Off and on rain and 0.36" on the day so far. 3.20" for the month so well above normal for precip and well below normal in temps. Let's hope this trend of cold continues thru next winter.

Very confused at the moment.  Radar is showing it's raining but it's bone dry outside.  Checked some WSDOT traffic cameras... I see no rain. From Bellingham to Olympia, and out to the Peninsula... everything looks dry.  Checked some cameras in Portland and Salem, also dry. What is going on? How can it be so wrong?

I was really hoping someone would answer this by the time I come back on.  But how come all the radar from every source I was looking through last night showed rain throughout the region, but there was no rain?  Was their moisture in the clouds that confused the systems?  Could any one who is more of a pro explain this please?

All I can do is mostly just walk around my small flat but it works. I probly walk 10 miles a day back and forth here since it's very difficult for me to have the opportunity to travel and hike.

It's weird but a dream of mine is to walk all the way across the country and do my best to keep people updated and do livestreaming thru my phone, raising awareness for epilepsy in the process. I wouldn't care how long it took, I just love to walk.

It was raining here... and SEA had measurable rain yesterday evening.    TacomaWaWx said it was "dumping" in Tacoma yesterday evening.

But it was the initial band and there was some offshore flow at the upper levels... so there was some virga which is rain above that is not actually reaching the ground.   Or it was just sprinkles in places and the roads appeared dry on the traffic cams.

Not all precip on the radar translates perfectly to tangible weather on the ground.   Sometimes it dumping here with nothing on the radar (cloud bases are very low) and sometimes its dry even when the radar shows rain.

Probably one of the more surreal experiences I've had, at least so far. House got completely surrounded by dust with the sky turning a very weird green/orange color followed by the house absolutely rocking by the wind. Now we are getting quite a bit of lightning.

Now you transition to endless sunshine and temps in the 70s after the "cold" front passes.     Not going to lie... I am very jealous right now.

We will see about the cold summer part. I do think this summer will be different than most of the last 10 years but you never really know.

I agree, As long as we don't get any 100+ days I'll be happy. I'm hoping for a good winter after it though. Up north you seem to be doing really well which is nice after missing out in 2013/14 and 2016/17, but I'm hoping we get something that's good for everyone. My area did extremely well in 2016/17 (18 inches of snow) but hasn't done as well recently, but not too bad.

Tell me about it. It’s barely squeaked above 60°F so far this season here, and it’s still something of a crapshoot if a given day will break the 50°F mark. And our mountain snowpack continues to increase. Second winter indeed.

It's called clown range for a reason.

I don't care what anyone says, I think that huge Tonga eruption in January jacked our weather.

I thought they said that not enough SO2 was released to have a noticeable effect on our weather? I don't know much though.
