Awesome pic thanks for sharing tim!

My great grandparents lived on Alabama Hill in Bellingham my entire childhood. They had a big picture window looking west to the San Juans. and Olympics. Always kept a pair of binoculars on the table for the view. Good memories.

Yeah... 50 at UW station and raining steadily here. Cool spring weather is one thing... but it is just nasty and raw here. Feels like a textbook midwinter day.

Meanwhile... 61 in Bettles, Alaska. Colder than the Arctic today!

Fairbanks has warmer summers than San Francisco.

Seems the GFS might be having cutoff problems in the LR again. Or at least might be over-emphasizing it, since none of the EPS members trap the ULL like that.

The SEA station has really been missing out on the precip the last week or so especially today.  Just a few miles north and places are well over an inch of rain and less than a mile south places are almost to 1/2” while SEA is sitting at .25”.

So far there has ben very little sun with spits of rainfall out here. Super wild for east of the cascades. Been hovering between 50-70 without exception.

Winds have been roided too. Summiting the bluffs, my buddy and I actually encountered 60-70mph headwinds right next to the vertical drops. Surreal weather. Swimming, let alone walking without a jacket, is firmly thrown out the window.

Looks like WA is the coldest state in relation to normal this month.  Looks like it will be colder than 2011 for the state as a whole according to the PRISM maps.

EDIT:  I just noticed this map is for max temps only, but the same statement applies to the overall temp average as well.

Yeah...the weather has sucked east of the Cascades.  That's the thing making me the most pissy this spring.  It's making getting to the mine a lot more dicey than usual.

This is really acting like the 1930s.  In that decade it was common to have crazy shifts from one year to the next.

It was a dry day here in Federal Way but those Southerlies were blustery!!!
glad the CZ stayed north as I began cleanup in the yard after my hiatus from the NW.  Crazy how fast nature takes over…..I have a bird now nesting  just outside my sliding back door.   Boy is he in for a rude awakening now that I’m back!

Yeah we are pretty water logged here! Glad to hear that you got some decent rainfall but I'm surprised how dry you guys have been this year. Though I guess you guys always run bit drier up there on average.

Much different story down here to the south. 10.87" at my house and 10.79" at MSU on the year as of yesterday. Well over 11" now I'm sure. Pattern doesn't look to change anytime soon either!

Yeah we do run a little bit drier only 80 or so miles away lol.   I just cant get over how cold this spring has been,  the trees are just now starting to leaf out and that hard freeze/ frost we had a week or so ago killed a bunch of tree buds I am noticing now.  The creeks are just now starting to rise and get muddy.  If it stays in this  wet pattern, I wont complain, but we need just a little bit warmer temperatures, just a little bit....

Partly to mostly cloudy with a low of 47 this morning, up to 52 now. Looks like a decent stretch of warm days coming after one more cool one today, could be our first 80 Wednesday or Thursday.

Yesterday was 59/49 with widespread showers, some heavy at times.

Raining and 48.

.04” so far on the day, 5.66” on the month. Used the small window of opportunity to get the boat out from its winter hiding spot, I believe a squirrel took up residents mostly in between the big brown tarp and the normal cover. Destroyed the normal top, and the factory canvas which I should have just taken off and stored inside. Lesson learned. Poop everywhere, but at least the interior did not get chewed up. In the garage now until the new cover arrives tomorrow. Still have a full day of cleaning the interior. Hopefully the weather will be good enough in Eastern Wa in two weeks so we can take it with us.

Yeah its been very cold Spring, even by Montana standards! I've noticed the frost burn on the trees/buds as well here. What little leaf out we got started from the one 75 degree day last week has completely stopped again. It's getting a little concerning that they'll absorb enough energy before winter returns again.😬
