PDX hasn't been above 75 since September 25. A streak of 229 days, which is 6th longest all time.

Record is 246 days in 1977-78, so they got a little ways to go to get there but it's looking possible.

Someone I know was trying to tow their charter fishing boat to the west coast of the island yesterday morning and caught caught in a heavy snowfall. That highway is only around 1000ft.

I wish our typical snow levels were 2000’ in November! The ski resorts would open much much earlier than they do.

Last November it was constantly above 6000’. February and March usually yield on average far lower snow levels than November.

Yeah, November is the one month that is surprisingly lame at 1600', in terms of winter weather. In the historical record it can definitely perform well, but most years we don't even come close to snow in November. We had a significant snow event in November 2011, the first year I lived up here, but other than that, just a dusting in 2014, a couple inches in 2015, and another dusting in 2019, and that's pretty much it.

Looks a little aggressive over NW OR, which has effectively ditched any drought territory at this point and is in excellent shape snowpack and soil-moisture wise.

GFS shows 5.07" here through hour 324. If that verified we would be at 11.90" on the month. LOL

I’m hoping that my newly planted veggie garden did okay weathering the mid 30’s this morning. Time will tell.

It was very frosty here this morning. Got down to 33, we haven't planted anything, just have some cold weather starts going in our little greenhouse.

Regarding volcanic gases in the stratosphere. One of my volcanism class lectures said that once gases enter the stratosphere they spread around the globe fairly evenly, which would make the “affects one hemisphere more than the other” a myth. Would this be true or not?

Fire season in BC generally comes down to the weather in june and then through the summer.  If June is warm and dry then it sets the stage for July and august.

Or at least something that can keep the jet suppressed this next winter. I'm thinking it'll be slamming into northern California with Arctic surface lows regularly coming inland around Gold Beach or so and sliding ENE towards northern Klamath County at a snail's pace with extensive areas of frontogenesis and deformation banding to the north of there. Sub-freezing highs down to SW Oregon at times during next winter too.

Would be nice to not have one this year. Hopefully the wetter spring will help. Curious to know what the conditions in Cal is like though.
