This is getting excessive, and quite cluttered again. We had a good few day run without clogging the June thread with arguing but alas, it's come to a close. Please refer all future preference war talk to the designated thread.

Remember that you can respond to posts in one thread over in another, by clicking the "Quote" button and simply navigating to a different thread. The quote option should reappear in the bottom right of your screen there.

All I know is the weather has really messed up my trips to Liberty this year.  I have yet to go up there on anything resembling a nice day.  Last time the roads were so muddy I barely made it to my destination.  With the clay laden soil up there even a little bit of rain makes everything a bloody mess.  The weather has really messed up my lawn mowing schedule as well.  I can work around all of it, but it makes everything less enjoyable and harder work.

I've heard plenty of griping myself.

I’m 90% sure the CMC/Euro will be right and I’ll get screwed out of convection.

This past week the GFS was insisting on several MCS’s crossing through while the Euro/CMC were high and dry.

Ended up with 0.04” of precip. GFS is a troll. Sucked me right in..stabbed me in the back.

😀

I know that has happened to me too many times to count over the last 3 months.    GFS is always promising something good.

The only person I’ve heard that is enjoying the weather of late, except the few on here, was a woman who has an allergy to the sun.

I avoid it completely.  I hate talking weather with random people.   Seriously hate it.   I am talking about co-workers and friends and family and my kids friends and their families etc.

I overwhelm everyone I know with weather talk. I’m probably some sort of OCD.

I think the point needs to be made again about how important the dry season is in this climate.  We have a limited window to get nice weather here.  Our normal period of rain and gloom is long enough, but when it cuts into the supposed dry season it really gets hard to take.

I have to say I'm quite intrigued how other parts of the world are getting massive heat in June like we had last year.  The atmosphere is very perturbed.  Much more 1930s like.

No point really needs to be made, this year has been different so far from recent years, is what it is, can't stress about something that you can't control, just roll with it.

Yeah you lying, unless you took on that diet from living at Stamped Pass as a youth.  Which would be weird, good luck getting fresh ingredients for that diet way up there.

Very true.   But I think some serious S.A.D. is kicking in for some people due to lack of sunlight and that is actually a physical response.   Compounded by the realization that this is when the daylight is the longest.

When we don't get meaningful breaks... I think many people start to feel down.   The only way I can change that personally is to travel.

It's remarkable how much drier this week/weekend is probably going to turn out. As late as Tuesday models were showing more than an inch of rain by the end of the weekend and now I may not see any rain at all. Today was a completely dry day.

One thing I noticed when I was in Oregon is that if the beach is not cold and foggy in the summer, it's usually sunny with very a strong cold wind. If you go ankle deep in the water though it feels icy at first but you eventually begin to adjust to it and all of a sudden the air temperature begins to feel a whole lot warmer.

No way I could swim there like I do in California though, where the marine layer can even have a tropical feeling sometimes late in the summer.

May was pretty summery in 1983 and 1993.    There have been lots of extended warm spells in May in our history.   And some total duds too.   We got the biggest dud of all this year.

IDK that May 1993 was summery... It rained a decent amount and was only a couple degrees above normal. Would be like calling May 2022 "wintry." Not quite.

It had a 2-week stretch of temps mostly in the 70s here with a few 80s.   SEA peaked at 85 that month and had 3 day in the 80s and nearly half the days were 70+.   May 1993 ended up +2.1 there.

It certainly gave people a good taste of summer... compared to almost nothing this year.   Night and day different.  Of course then the wheels fell off in June and July.

Yeah, but it wasn't weeks of dry weather like May 2018. That was summer. May 1993 had a quick summer preview, but also some pretty wet seasonal days. I remember 1993 pretty clearly.

Westerlies are initiating as the trough axis shifts overhead. In response low level convergence is rapidly initiating, as well as stratoform drizzle.

To the north over the Strait of Georgia the main occlusion band is going strong. That feature will drift SE over the Sound throughout the day tomorrow. It may very well be a cold drizzly day.

So... We had a 56/46 day with 0.43" of rain today. Pushes up to 7.56" on the month. And since Tim is making a big deal about Seattle being close to their JJA average... Our JJA average is 4.53", JJAS is 7.01. It could not rain until October and JJAS would still be "wetter" than normal, by that metric.
