Only got down to 66 overnight here, but today is running at a slightly cooler pace than yesterday despite that. Currently 78.

Same here. We’re (BFI) running couple degrees behind yesterday’s pace at this time. Currently 77.
i still remember being in the 80s at 8am during last year’s heat.

Currently 86F on the east side of town for most stations. Just 82F at the airport. A poor representation of the entire metro area.

Alright then... 12Z ECMWF says a rainy and chilly 4th.     One week out now so its probably locking in.

85°F. Temperatures here are ahead of yesterday at this time despite it being cloudy today.

It's called clown range for a reason.

Obligatory “Good thing I’ll be in Klamath Falls!”

Doesn’t look very warm though. Medford only forecasting mid-70s Sunday/Monday and even Redding doesn’t get much higher than 85 or so.  Most down there are probably very happy about it if anything.

It’s a complicated pattern, though. Clearly some degree of destructive interference there.

Background La Niña circulation does seem to want to re-emerge, though. As it has consistently done since April. Question for me is how long that process will take. Could be I’ve underestimated it again.

No one station is going to representative of a geographically large and varied metro area. PDX runs way warmer and drier than pretty much any other location, for instance.

I notice there are SSW winds at EUG, and they’ve only gone up a degree in the last hour. They are probably starting to feel the effects of marine influence through the Siuslaw gap, moreso than eastern parts of town. Just a matter of time before it reaches you.

Interesting because sometimes we get those winds first. Like in Feb 2021 when we shot up to 48F before midnight and the airport was about 36F for a good 45 mins or so before they switched to SSW. Must depend on the setup.

I’m guessing in that case the terrain helped break up the inversion earlier out there. Warm nosing. EUG tends to hold onto northerlies down the valley a little longer during cold offshore flow episodes in the winter.

What I’m trying to say is the station is trash and should be condemned. I won’t rest until every major station in the I-5 corridor runs a solid 2-4 degrees warmer than their respective metro area.
