Jim is probably more hysterical than you about this weather. It just doesn't get as much play because he doesn't post 600X a day.

So?   My response was about #newJesse.

Getting some sunbreaks now. Some decent looking cells on radar off the coast.

Looks like that is a secondary low offshore... there is a curved signature on satellite and radar.

Yes... much lighter now.    We had that squall line move through about an hour ago.

PNW looks like the national oasis on most of these model runs. Prepare for an invasion of midwesterners fleeing the death ridge.

The p8/1/2 MJO under in-situ low AAM/-ENSO low pass is somewhat reminiscent of 2012.

Raining decently again here. Very moist today even light echoes on radar are dumping rain hard today.

Yes... I know my family and friends in MN and WI would love to escape the summer they waited 9 month for to get back to cold and wet.   Hopefully our infrastructure can handle the mass influx.  ;)

56 with rain and wind is the envy of the country.

Even though it’s pulling back a little on the crazy rainfall amounts, the 12z GFS and its ensembles are looking pretty decent the next 7-10 days

Worth noting that a lot of guidance was hinting at a possible heatwave in the 10th-12th timeframe just a couple days ago.

Less dangerous than 105+ with 80+ dewpoints.

With Phil... the only choices are always being set on fire and burning to death or drowning.   Pick one.    There is no middle ground.  😃

No.    Burning or drowning... that is the only thing nature offers.

And that’s early June. Try visiting in August. 😬

Ironically I’ll be in Saint Simon’s GA 8/7 - 8/21 this year. Going to be a test of will & strength.

Yes, what's your point? My climate is incapable of 80+ dewpoints. I have experienced heat like that before. It's not possible here. I just want a sunny evening. I can't recall the last sunny evening. My expectations are pretty low.

Some say the world will end with fire

Some say with ice

From what I’ve tasted of desire I’ll hold with those who favor fire

But if it had to perish twice I think I know enough of hate

To say that for destruction ice is also great and would suffice

That's how I remember the Low Country. That was a typical day.

Yeah I purposely avoid SC in June-August if I can help it. Had to go to a wedding and a family reunion this time.  This was the latest in the Spring i've been home in the 11 years I've been away.  usually go in October-Dec time period, or April

I spent 10-12 hrs/day @ Ft Stewart in that type of heat for three summers. 90 degrees here is very nice.

We don’t get “in-between” here very often.

If we’re lucky May and October can deliver spectacular weather. This spring was actually decent. The next 7-10 days look okay as well. But it’s always fleeting.

So 56 and rain isn’t the only alternative to a massive heat wave? 😱

I didn't enjoy last year's heatwave. I work a physical job, and I don't have air conditioning. If it had been 75-85, I would have been much happier.

It used to be common wisdom that summer only started AFTER Independence Day weekend. Like most so-called common wisdom, that was not always the case, but it was the case quite often. We have had a run of summers that is not representative of historical norms.

Don't most late Junes have 80's before the show? It's fine if you guys don't hit 90 until after 7/4, but I don't use 90 as a staple for summers in the PNW. I found it was pretty rare to stay socked under clouds and 60's thru 7/5.

It can happen up here. Sunny and clear days have been pretty rare over the last few months. February was our sunniest month. We did hit 82 last Thursday. KGEG hit 79. We're going to earn nice summer weather this year.
