June 2022 - Summer Begins

Feels like November.

That reminds me of one weather thing I miss about the Midwest: how DARK the severe thunderstorms can be. Dark enough to make the street lights come on in early evening, hours before sunset. And if the action lasted a while, they would stay on until morning. Could always get a random evening of abnormal early darkness any old day in the summer.

Of course, it was still warm and muggy out. Really couldn't mistake it for winter.

Looks like I was wrong and the EURO was right. Rained all afternoon, currently hanging out on the southern edge of the rain band and up to 1.04" on the day.

The NWS was forecasting around 0.8 inches by 11 PM today total and we've already received more than an inch. Nice to see that's it overperforming compared to the last two weekends.

Think we over performed just a bit here…1.67” here the last 2 days.

Alright lawn guys/girls of weather forums. I need some advice. I have all these weeds around the edge of my grass. Should I weed wack, weed killer, hand pull them out? Figuring out this lawncare stuff😂😂 I don’t know the most efficient way  of killing them and not having them return. I have been handing pulling them in other parts of the yard, but it’s not efficient.

Spray roundup under the trees.  When they have died in a couple weeks.  Whack them down and mulch.
