Some pretty explosive development happening to the south here... should get pretty interesting over the next hour.

74 now with the DP at 61 looks like we hit 77 at some point.  Seeing the clouds start to do some interesting stuff...

Business definitely appears to be picking up in mountains east of the south sound region...

Culmination of factors. That La Niña was also collapsing rapidly during the spring, while this one was/is strengthening.

1988 might be a better ENSO analog as that Niña was borderline strong by summer. This one will also likely be the strongest since 1999 during boreal summer.

And Larry Cosgrove is still on the weak El nino by fall if you can beleave that.Nothing against cosgrove just wonder what it is he seeing.

Bring it on!

My son is on our boat on Lake Sammamish with his friends since about noon.   He says it's really warm and calm.   Stressing me out though because I have to watch the radar like a hawk and alert him if he needs to get off the lake quickly.   They are threading the needle perfectly so far though!

64F fully overcast, and very cool.  Not muggy like yesterday and it doesn't feel like 64F at all.  It's very refreshing, nice near-constant breezy conditions.  Loving this.  Forecasts are showing it rain here the next couple days till Monday.  :)  It is also brighter than yesterday, despite being cloudier?  Huh.

Also saw one of those new Rivian trucks today.  Thought I would share a pic of it if anyone is curious.

Does it always feel cooler than the actual temp where you are?

Feels like it's in the 50s because of the breeze.  The air has a cool base to it.  Maybe between 55F  - 57F?

No.  Not at all.  I wish it did though.  Yesterday to me felt warmer than the actual temp.  The forecasted temp wasn't reached by a mile, but because it was kind of muggy, it felt warmer than it should have.

It is very humid and warm now. Clouds are bubbling up, though radar is silent. That should soon change.

Just a completely different world than 99.9% of the Seattle area.    I assume it does not feel like its in the 50s anywhere except literally right on the water's edge.   Its like you are describing the weather in some distant place.    😄

Did I never mention I am reporting this weather from a remote cabin in Southeast Alaska?  Oops. ;)   lol

Everett varies a lot due to gullies, elevation changes, like any Puget Sound coastal city/town.  The airport (Paine Field) currently is at 66F.  My house is currently 64F.  Mukilteo is 65F. South Everett is 68F (further inland).  Downtown Everett is is 66F.  Everett waterfront is 65F.  Eastern Everett (further inland) is 69F.  It's all over the place. :D

Also just started raining.  I'll see if temps drop.

Here's the NWS point forecast for my location. Looks like at least an inch of rain coming up, right? Somehow I'm feeling yet another under-performance brewing.

Unless maybe by posting about it, I trigger the reverse jinx and it ends up wetter than forecast for a change! 🙃

Says Terrible Traffic Cam Tim.

Thunder? Nope, the I-90 cam didn't catch it and that person is a ******* piece of liar.

Snow sticking to the pavement? Nope, the I-5 Tukwila cam says that not only is it bare and wet, that the person reporting is a stupid ******* Mid Atlantic basement dweller who is too focused on surpassing my trolling skillz and not focused on his pathetic excuse of a continental climate.

Welcome back!

I heard multiple rumbles of thunder after that post.  I just missed the first one he reported.   Had no doubt there was thunder and certainly did not say he was lying or implied he was lying.   But it sounds like you are very upset about it.  Like very upset.  😀

Here too…the lightning tracker site I usually use is being weird though and I can’t see if it’s producing lightning. It is getting dark here.

PDX just hit 80 😔

PDX made it all the way through spring without hitting 80 once. Even if the all time record stands that is still a pretty significant feat. In the PDX era this is the ninth year since 1941 to pull that off, the others being 1955, 1960, 1974, 1977, 1991, 1996, 2010, and 2011.
