Cloudy cool day 60 degrees here. Haven’t had any precip since yesterday evening.

The potential weekend drizzlefest has failed to materialize so far.   Its been dry here all day too.  Things are already trending better.   👍

We’ve had a couple brief sunbreaks but so far it’s stayed pretty cloudy. I’m thinking about going camping out on Anderson island for the first time since early May Monday and Tuesday. Big problem is our property is on a hill with a muddy road going down to it so it’s somewhat difficult to camp when the roads a mud pit…so I’ve gotta carry everything down the hill during the springtime. Even though we’ve had quite a bit rain recently it’s probably getting close to driveable.

The extended heat the GFS is showing won't verify. But things will grow unseasonably warm quickly. I hope to god it doesn't last. Because if a -ENSO background state like this doesn't produce a cold summer, then what the hell will anymore?

If you asked Larry Cosgrove he would say the La nina is weaking and going warm neutral possbly weak El nino this fall What he seeing your have to ask him on his facebook page.

That would be nice, but the CPC is calling for a warmer ASO though/products/predictions/long_range/lead02/off02_temp.gif

It's only in the leaning above though.  They use persistence of trends in recent years in their mix of forecast tools so this isn't surprising.  I think we have a 50/50 shot at a cool August.

The guy is nuts to still be going with a Nino.  Just like a captain going down with the ship I guess.

Nice afternoon here with the inversion wiped out and the haze all gone. You can also see my 6th grade classroom from some 30 years ago.

Unfortunately the schoolyard has been locked up for years now during weekends and summers in order to prevent vandalism or something. It's easy enough to just climb the fence if you really want to get in. I used to take my dog to play there before they locked it up.

In addition, they have the air conditioner running all summer long cooling off empty classrooms.

Me either. Might be a regional thing with hot dogs. I prefer fish, chicken and steak in that order.

Interesting.  The models seem to be picking up on a mostly dry cold front around day 10.  A nice refresh of below normal temps.

It appears WI and WV are kind of the oddballs.  I actually do agree with WV though.

My big takeaway here is that there are large portions of the country where people view videos on how to grill hot dogs.

I must have missed something?  A refresh of below normal temps?  We haven't had a single sunny stretch in almost two months and certainly no one on this blog would say we've been anywhere near normal or even above.

Are you jinxing an upcoming dry and warm stretch?

I've seen how you jinx things in the winter.

Delete your post........LOL! :)

Looks like we go into a pretty torchy pattern starting early next week to me. The pattern you are wishing for with wall to wall sun and below normal temps is pretty much impossible in the summer in our climate.
