Looks like it’s raining down in Portland…not a ton of rain but definitely got some especially out on the coast range. 69 and mostly sunny but increasing clouds from the south looks like rains starting to move into SW WA.

It's been spitting off and on.

This upcoming hot weather is starting to be reflected on forecasting models.  Everyone gets hot, but less so north of Seattle.

Spokane is hot right away with highs in the 80s, and reaching 94F by Tuesday, 95F Wed, and another 94F on Thurs.  Who knows how far it will continue.

Seattle is currently showing one day of 80F degrees on Tuesday.  Otherwise it's a reasonable mid-seventies.  After Tuesday's 80F, it will be high seventies.

Everett and points north will be the 'cool' spot at the moment.  No day is shown to reach 80F with the hottest temperature being Tuesday at 78F.  Otherwise temps are in the low to mid seventies.

Bellingham The hottest Bellingham is shown to get at the moment is 78F with temps on the low seventies until Tuesday when they reach the mid seventies.  By far the coolest location of the cities listed here.

Eugene is hot with low eighties and at least two days of 90F starting Monday.

Portland shows hot temps of low nineties and high eighties every day after Monday.

Medford hits triple digits on Monday.  Sunday shows 93F, 102F on Mon, 98F on Tues, and high 90s through the rest of their week according to the forecast model.

We will certainly be living up to the hottest and driest time of the year.

All you have to do is look at the height maps to see it's not going to get THAT warm in the next 10 days.

Up to 77 in North Bend now and still mostly sunny here with some rain passing by just to the east.    Next band to the south is a couple hours away yet.

Just noticed that the 12Z ECMWF shows much less in the way of stubborn marine layer clouds from Thursday-Saturday compared to previous runs.    Also feels sort of humid out there today which will probably be the theme this week with southerly flow.

Got some high clouds rolling in. Hard to tell if this will reach central sound or fall apart. Maybe swipe us for a few showers later this afternoon.

The models seem to think it’ll make it. Should have multiple shower chances over the next couple days.

You’ll probably atleast get some more rain over the next couple days. I get the feeling you won’t make it to #20 for football players this year but we will see.

And right on time, the 12z EPS transitions the pattern ~ 7/20.

Fits in with the change in west-Pacific convection around that time. I’m pretty bullish on a substantially cooler pattern starting in late July and lasting through (at least) mid-August.

get my annual AC service/check up on Friday.  it really struggles to cool the house, especially upstairs when temps are consistently in the 90s.  Oof go away 90s

Not that it's all that warm now....

A cool August would get me excited.  Could be a sign of a huge shift since we haven't had one since 2001 or so.
