SilverFallsAndrew
People may be surprised, but I used to love heatwaves. But when you also love cold anomalies, and they pretty much never occur anymore in the summer, historic heatwaves just become depressing after a while. To the point where I now despise any summer heat. Does not look parched per se, nor in a state of drought. The core stalks still have their chlorophyll well in tact. The grass just seems to be drying out at the rate you'd normally expect it to, perhaps a bit slower. Also turning a bit brown here but it’s been awhile since it’s stayed this green going into mid July.
TacomaWx
Definitely not like 2019 though…grass was already fully brown by early June…but got greener as the summer progressed. Was greener by last week of august than it was during the last week of June.

The two posters in our region who whine the most about the rain happen to live in the wettest microclimates represented on here. Flip side seems to be they get more snow than just about anyone else on the west side and also hand chose their respective locations/have very nice properties there 1 1 1 1 Quote Summer grows while Winter goes

More snow, rain, and clouds; plus it's colder. City amenities and proximity to friends aside, I'd love to live in the foothills where Tim lives. 1 1 Quote Weather stats for MBY Snowfall: -Total snowfall since joining: 50.25" -2018-19: 21" -2019-20: 2.5" -2020-21: 13" -2021-22: 8.75" -2022-23: 5.75" -2023-24*: 0.25" -Most recent snowfall: 0.25”; January 17th, 2024 -Largest snowfall (single storm): 8.5"; February 12-13, 2021 -Largest snow depth: 14"; 1:30am February 12th, 2019 Temperatures: -Warmest: 109F; June 28th, 2021 -Coldest: 13F; December 27th, 2021 -Phreeze Count 2023-24:
Cloud
Good to see the heat getting suppressed for W. WA on the 18z for early next week. Pretty comfortable Seattle-north. We'll see how the 00z fair.
