Already down to 53!

West wind?    I was looking at a map earlier and noticed your area is perfectly centered downwind from the Strait with only narrow Whidbey Island in the way.

My weather station says NW at 0.0MPH! Down to 51.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Didn’t intend on it being a political discussion me bringing that up. It was just a very stressful hard situation to deal with my apologies.
Nice evening down to 69 here felt much better being in the mid 70s vs mid 80s today.

Never hesitate to post stuff like that.  You've had quite a run of weird stuff happen lately.

I don’t post here much, mostly lurk. His reaction seemed a bit overly sensitive to me.

Sh*ts always crazy at Fred meyers man. I deal with mentally insane crazy people on a daily basis along with mean people and shoplifters. The job itself isn’t bad it’s just people that ruin it. I’d like to move into a different career but I’m just not sure what to do at this point in my life. Tried moving into HVAC work earlier this year but I ended up picking a terrible company to try and didn’t last long.

Overly sensitive or not, I think we can all agree that the multi-page nonsense is getting old. Let's all learn to live and let live, and let arguments come and pass without extending them twelve posts past their expiration date.

I would be very saddened to see another member leave over effectively nothing because it was blown out of proportion.

I definitely think he overreacted or didn’t perceive that people weren’t actually upset with him…maybe he thought people on the forum were upset with him which I don’t think was the case at all.

Some people have anxiety disorders, and do things because of some perceived bias or hate directed to them, real or not. These thoughts may be entirely out of their control. There are many members here self admittedly on the spectrum or burdening another mental illness of some kind. I choose to skip past the action and ask myself how it got to that point in the first place.

I definitely understand the anxiety thing. I have incredible struggles myself with panic attacks have for the last year or so. Always had anxiety but it’s never been as bad for me as it has been in the last year so I’m very sympathetic to mental health issues now that I’ve gone through my own stuff.

It's a different world here.  You would be shocked.  Once you get into more conservative areas things are much more orderly.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience with the HVAC.

For me 2020 really pushed me to some serious limits.  A bunch of really strange personal experiences, COVID, the civil unrest, the smoke, etc.  I even made a serious mistake when I was mining and had explosives go off while I was in the tunnel.

It took me months to get back on track after that F'd up year.

BTW...if you have situational anxiety where you know a thing that sets you off is coming up Klonopin works extremely well.  At least for me.

It is if you hate weather of any kind.

It's certainly not what I would want.  Waking up to sunshine every day, all the time would not be my thing.

I like storms, rain, clouds, wind, etc.  So PNW is my happy home.

I more than happy to be halfway thru July without triple digit temps!   We finally had some pretty active storms the last couple of weeks that dropped a total of 2.04" so far for the month, so hopefully that will push back the fire season a little....

I saw that Helena had a river coming right down main street earlier this month! Seems like every corner of Montana has seen at least some sort of flooding this year.

How many triple digit temps do you typically see each year? I've never seen 100 at my house and Bozeman hasn't hit 100 since August 2018 and has only hit 100 seven times since 1893.

Still looking for my first 90 of the year here. Thought we'd do it today but storms started firing before peak heating and we're still holding onto some decent soil moisture so we only hit 86F. Picked up a 0.10" with the storms and currently a rain cooled 66F.

Bozeman is pretty similar to the PNW lowlands...I too am looking forward to July 27th and the downward trend!

Average High and Low Temperature in Bozeman.png

Both Bozeman and PDX share the same max average high of 84 but you blow us away in the cold department. PDX min average temperature is 45/36 compared to Bozeman at 30/12🥶

Even KLMT at its lowest averages 21 in January. And avg high is always above freezing. It's pretty easy to get mid-40's in middle of winter, whereas Bozeman I bet gets lots of days around 32.

Montana truly is old man Winter climate, they had particularly early snows in 2019 if I recall. I'm not used to it snowing in September anywhere I've lived. Or October for that matter.

That's total BS.  It never would have worked right if it was that low on charge, and if they installed it wrong it should be warranty.  It doesn't take long to hook up the gauges to measure.  Assuming you have 410 refrigerant, wholesale cost is $20/pound.  I'd bet on a leak on a fitting or at the coil, unless you've been pounding nails in the wall.

I wish I knew more about this .  I think they forgot to put coolant in at install or there's a massive leak.  I have another vendor coming in behind the guy on Monday to check for leaks.  I think there's a leak too, FTR

Some of these HVAC companies are total crooks…part of the reason I left the one I was at. The company I worked for charged some poor guy 1500$ for me and our technician to come out and “fix” an issue which happened to be a faulty txv valve on an outdoor heat pump…which probably cost 100-250$ max for the part and all we did was re install and braise it on there probably took him 30-40 minutes to do.

Yeah I'm suspicious.   I only had these guys out because their stickers are on the unit as the installer.  Of course they're never going to admit fault to me.  I'm not getting anywhere with the contractor either who used them for the home next door that's around the same age (18 months) and the owner told me no AC issues.  The unit passed all the pressure tests the City Code enforcement folks did when it was installed and has all that info plastered on it and on my electric circuit/fuse box in the garage.

Yeah it has snowed every September since I moved here in 2017. Bozeman actually averages over an inch of snow in September and almost 6" in October so early fall snow is quite normal along with late spring snow (May averages 4"). On average, the only months it doesn't snow is July/August. Of course you also have 1993 where town saw 2" of snowfall on August 24th.

You have to really enjoy the snow if you live here which I still do thankfully!
