Looks like the smoke is staying south of Eugene for now.

Hopefully persistent onshore flow this week will keep the worst of it well to our south and east.

Been pretty lucky out here this summer with only a little aloft smoke drifting in from time to time from the big Moose fire in Idaho.

We will be going through Bozeman on Saturday afternoon or evening.    And again the following Saturday.

Just pay attention to the high Arctic... Look at how the freezing contour overtakes the North Pole and the rest of the Arctic Ocean! A sign of the changing seasons...

tbh, I spend way too much time on tidbits running the slider back and fourth this time of year.

With this pattern, baring any new fire starts you might actually have a smoke free I90 drive once you get east of WA.

For those that didn't know, WB now has smoke forecasts on the HRRR 3km model now as well. I'm not really a fan of the graphic compared to the free NOAA one though.

Up to 80F. Wouldn't be surprised if today is the hottest one since it appears there will be smoke to keep temps in check for the next few days if not most of the next month.

The good news is that’s aloft and it’s not from anything nearby. Looks like we could have a couple days with aloft smoke but I think the upcoming troughing would likely kick it out east.

Same. Although August is typically the worst month for smoke, so too early to declare much about this summer.

A forum for the end of the world.

I don't think it's going to be thick enough to have much effect on the temps since there will be plenty of mixing before reaching up there. At most it might keep things a couple of degrees cooler but that's about it.

Notched a low of 54F this morning, but already zoomed up to 71F which is almost warmer than yesterday's high. Will probably record a couple 80s this week with tomorrow maybe making a run at 90F before the natural AC cools things down a bit later in the week.

Could stoke some August 2017-style controversy.

Compared to the last couple of years we were chocking on smoke June through August so this has been a welcome reprieve this year!

this year reminds me of 2019 here.  Not bad on smoke and only a couple smoky days in August/early Sept.  Hopefully this year is similar or better

KPTV showing some thin smoke possible on Wednesday and Thursday. Doesn't look too bad.
