The ECMWF could be a lot worse.  OK for this week then it kicks that stupid cutoff low inland for a cool day 9 and 10.

77 degrees and sunny here in Minnesota.  Perfection.   Everything is lush green although they say it's been a dry summer.   We left North Bend at 7:30 a.m. yesterday and arrived at 9 a.m. CDT here so 23.5 hour trip with two stops for sit down meals

Damn that looks fine as hell.

Feels like 107 here in Sarasota. 🤮

One thing to note is the fact that AK and the WGOA continue to get pounded with a continuation of this pattern…image.png

Even the heat dome of last June was at least partially the downwind result of a historically strong system in the GOA a few days prior.

That pattern would be a derecho orgy.

I’m sure back home will get hammered now that I’ve left.

Yeah looks like summer is over in Alaska.

Gonna be snowing hard up there if the EPS is right.

Nice stock of cold air for when the 4CH dissolves.

Temperatures in the Strait of Georgia are now approaching mid-70s, about as warm as you'd expect them to get in the year. Meanwhile YVR recorded a record high dewpoint at 73F - https://www.theweathernetwork.com/ca/news/article/vancouver-sets-all-time-dew-point-record-as-tropical-air-bathes-british-columbia#:~:text=Steamy Vancouver sets all-time dew point record&text=The city recorded a dew,in this typically temperate city. I don't think the dewpoint has fallen below 63F there in over a week now.

I wonder if the Atlantic is going to wake up in August.  This is such an atypical La Nina summer who knows.

Amazing how warm that gets compared to everything else.  Juan de Fuca is so bloody cold by comparison.

No doubt it will.  Where do you think all of the power will come from when we are all ordered to drive electric cars?

The GFS is showing a really strong onshore flow setting up tomorrow.  Good chance Tuesday will be quite a bit cooler than shown.

Record shattering all time heat last year... followed now by the longest heat wave in history.  In back to back Nina summers.    Pretty surreal even for someone who loves warm weather in the summer.

It's an incredible streak from the heavens.

Maybe we can get an equally cold, dry, sunny streak like this in the winter with some cold dry snow and windy outflow?

This stretch has been heaven sent.  I love the sun and the warmth and am in seventh heaven.
