If we’re going to do cool and grey today I’d prefer to get a free watering out of it.

Yeah and timing is great, should be drier tomorrow and I’d bet on some sunbreaks…will be nice to get some rain before fireworks just to lessen the chances of fireworks causing brush fires possibly.

I’ve been surprised to see and hear almost zero fireworks this weekend. I realize they’re illegal in Tacoma but that hasn’t really stopped people in the past. Maybe it’s just my neighborhood.

Now post the maps for the last ten June’s before that.

Last June was wetter than normal in western WA.

Still waiting for our first measurable July rainfall here since 7/7/2020. Good chance we'll be waiting a few years longer.

Can’t tell by the pic but the heavy drizzle is back! .18” on the day so far. Want some? I will share!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Pretty weird here at the coast too. Practical silence last night despite there being no restrictions.

We’ve had a few neighborhood sh*thead kids lighting em off in my area but not a ton. Looking forward to the first fireworks show here in awhile down on Ruston should be the first one since 2019!

56 and light rain on July 3rd at noon feels pretty darn chilly out there. Up to 0.01” today.

I will admit I’m salty we are missing out on this weather by just a couple hundred miles today. It’s just filtered sunshine and mild here. 65 degrees and feels pretty warm actually.

Yeah hopefully the euro works out…it’s not a super cool pattern but definitely some shower chances down that way too.

Yeah, I'd rather just be getting rain out of what promises to be one of our few opportunities over the next 60-90 days. Especially if it's going to be rather drab and cloudy anyways.

12z Euro looks refreshing for Phil. Big east coast trough in the 6-10 day range. Tones the long range stuff down out here too.

Wow, yeah that’d be orgasmic if it verified.

Not all that cool verbatim, but would be a convective bonanza.

Pretty sure that's just because the data time is cut off (unless you're joking). Record minimum temperature in Dallas is 87F. I think 97F for a low would set a record outside the desert southwest, but couldn't find good data on that. Death Valley has a record high minimum temperature of 110F from 1918 (although I think that's a bit questionable), but it also didn't drop below 107F on July 12, 2012.

Imagine that. The low in Death Valley on that day was as low as the high Seattle hit last year!

I was joking but I was mostly just shocked that he didn’t crop out that first day since that’s the protocol. How will all the plebes know it’s only partial day forecast??

I'll be travelling the lovely coastal glaciers and inlets of Alaska via cruise for the next few weeks so I'm hoping the weather cooperates (and offers up some great photo opportunities). At the same time I can imagine why they don't operate cruises in that part of the world during winter!

Wow! That is really surprising! Guess there’s a real sharp cutoff to the west. The band of precip has moved back slightly east for now but still drizzling here.

The Lord has deemed the west side unworthy of his liquid blessings on this day. Perhaps a period of deep self reflection and intense psychedelic drug use will reveal the reasons why. Will let you know what I find out.

Pretty interesting how roughly 3 miles made a huge difference today. Looks like the rain band is shifting back west again starting to rain now. We have reached a scorching 57 degrees now too.

Would be nice to get something here. Looks like mamatus clouds. Pics are not that great.
