In a cell phone pocket so posting a couple fun pictures. This particular cell was upstream as I was hiking but still very small at the time and I kept and eye on the radar.  Boy did it grow fast though once I was off trail. Just beautiful out here

During the September 2020 fires we had some downright chilly days in Eugene due to the smoke caused inversion. The day we were finally allowed in to check on the livestock, it was in the mid 60s in the valley and nearly 90 up here.

97 degrees in North Bend.   Miserable.

SEA has now tied longest 90+ streak at 5 days.

Temp is slowly dropping as we go east.   From 101 down to 93 now.   Temps are very steady through Montana... doesn't jump around like it does driving around Seattle area.

That vortex in the Beaufort Sea/N-Alaska is a killer for the PNW in both summer and winter (albeit for different reasons).

Better hope that’s not the background state this fall.

Models look absolutely awful today. Smokefest should start up pretty soon if they're close to correct.

Incredible how all the models delayed and watered down the trough so drastically just 3-4 days out. Obviously these wandering ULLs are hard for the models to handle but it's still pretty remarkable.

I was about 11 miles inland today and the highest reading I saw on a bank sign and my car was 94F.

More and more I feel blessed to live where I live.  My station and the few around it were low 80s in that same time frame.  Currently 81F which is the peak high for today at my place.
