Good Lord.  18z ECMWF showed 79 in SEA on Tuesday while the 0z GFS shows 90.  Probably going to end up right in the middle.

Found this short old video from the first storm on Feb 6th, 2014. I remember it being pretty windy like this, but some other videos of the storms on the 7th and the 8th are much less windy than the first one in the video. That was a pretty fun event, ended up with ~9" total.

This was my massive total from that event!

Pretty wild differences for the temps on Tuesday between the GFS and Euro. GFS want to create a warm bubble for the Puget Sound areas.

Safe bet is we’ll be in the middle ground for the numbers the 2 models shown.

I think 84 or 85.  If that's a heatwave in July you know we are having a cool summer.

The models appear to be showing a possible round of cool, decently sunny, dry weather during the second half of July.  Been almost impossible to pull that off in recent years.

00z EPS looks good for a period of average to coolish weather following the heatwave.

At the surface it should be slightly above average due to mild lows.

Yeah... a very active jet stream type of winter is definitely an outlandish idea for a Nina year.   I am sure it will be a warm and dry winter like 2014-15.   👍

1991-92 was actually a gigantic turd due to Pinatubo, and not the strong El Nino.

 Who knew.

Anyways... expected a foggy and drizzly marine layer morning but that did not happen.

We were living in Stevenson, WA at the time and it was one of the more epic storms I’ve experienced personally. Had a couple highs in the teens and over a foot of snow. All with very strong winds throuout.

ECMWF was insisting it would be socked in from Portland northward this morning.    But always showed sunny skies down your way.    So you were right not to expect a marine layer.
