00z GFS turns pseudo-torchy after the 9th.

On a side note the 12z Euro was awesome. Cool and periodically rainy throughout

Still quite slowly after the solstice but we’re getting there! 🥰

Daylight loss per day is accelerating, too, through the equinox!

I'm not a fan of the days getting shorter this time of year, but when we get into autumn it's a different story.

Folks in the Rockies/Plains are gonna f**king roast, though.

And later on the Midwest/Great Lakes will join them.

Yeah...it appears the Pacific high is really getting it's act together which is a great scenario to force warmth out of the SW into much of the CONUS.  It look like it might keep the 4CH displaced for a good part of the summer.  The 4CH has been kind of an unruly beast in recent years.  It takes quite a Pacific high to keep it displaced eastward.

They need to redo the GFS operational again.  The last upgrade was awful.

Beautiful evening. 73/50 today. We've been below normal 3 of the past however months. December, April, May. But even the warmer months weren't too torchy. A solid win.

The 00Z ECMWF is improved again for the 4th... its actually clearing up during the afternoon in Seattle and basically clear by evening.     It shows 70 for a high but that might actually be a little warmer with its cool bias.

I think the 00Z EPS is a little closer to the GFS at that same time.   It shows weak troughs in the same general area and a weak ridge in between.

Beautiful. The rocks in one of the shots look like a lava flow. I haven’t seen that west of the Cascades.
