December 2015 in the Pacific Northwest

Reaching, my friend. There were several of us that pointed out the unlikelihood of Tim's initial post about widespread 60+ temps this week. Had nothing to do with perceived biases, as you're inferring.

Plus, I really don't care about sub-70 highs in July. Only a few on here do.

Didn't have to reach too far. Only about four months.

My preferences can beat up your preferences’ dad.

Tonight will be featuring some of the worst weather that is possible for weather weenies. Mid 30's and rain. :(

Maybe I'm weird, but I like a good bone-chilling rain sometimes. Part of the winter climate here. Might as well embrace it!

Especially when it means mountain snow.

46 and raining here right now. That is the nice part of not getting the offshore flow. I never have to deal with major ZR events.

Healthy radar echoes over my area now and still totally dry out there... the power of offshore flow.

Unless you like ZR.  I don't mind a little bit of it, but too much is awful IMO.

Well that's a first

"A special 60-hour WRF-GFS run for the 36, 12, and 4-km domains was run today for the 2015120118 run to support the OLYMPEX field campaign."

No clue what the OLYMPEX field campaign is.

I'm calling it now. We will finally have a great January in terms of cold and snow in 2016. I would bet my life on it.

The last week of December and first week of January are coldest, but solidly below average through mid-January, then slightly below normal heights with very cold air pouring east of the Rockies. Probably fake cold for the last part of the month.

I've always maintained that he needs to start a chain of pizza joints. Tony Romo's. If that doesn't say pizza, I don't know what does.

Tony Romo's cheese pizza. He should get on that after his career

Hopefully a week of cold, clear weather after the initial Dec 1968 redux to satisfy Jim.

My definition of zonal flow = quick moving systems and variable weather. Is this correct?

"Colder air mass" moving mainly more solidly eastward, simpler and more straight-forward.

— "Meridional" [patterning.] being the opposite of this idea. Where and when cold air tends to move more southward, outward and down from its main higher latitude source north, while at the same time, more slowly east.

The way it's going, probably sooner than later. ;)

Nahh he has the highest QBR out of all QB's last year, Most comebacks in the 4th quarter out of anyone since 2006. Just a rough year with injuries this year.
