Official Complaint Thread

Find it interesting that some can complain on any thread but if Nebraskans do we are called out. Good to know.

I'm sick of it too.  People to our East have atleast gotten accumulating snow this season, not to mention the healthier winters they have had this decade.  But yet, when they don't get snow for a couple weeks it's okay for them to complain.  When we complain we get called whiners.  Money in particular is a complete hypocrite.

Some pics/images from our big blizzard last year on 2/23. Crazy storm!

And that's just the last 4 days here in Oklahoma! Now it feels like early April out there.

Stay strong my friend!  Glad to hear you were able to get through this extraordinary situation.  Health is #1...take care of yourself and I pray for a speedy recovery.  Be well and enjoy the snow that

This winter man, some said it couldn't out due last year in suckiness, but as of now, it is in my books. This time last year I think I had 15-16" of snow. Vs not even a foot this year. Moreover, it's either rainy and 33 or 9 and brown grass. Big slap in the face when all your arctic air leaves and you have absolutely zero blocking leading to a warm cutter party for everyone. Given to the screw over that January has been, not holding my breath for February, since in December, January was gonna be the "big month." I guess we'll see, come on February, bring us a really great backloaded winter, we need it. Whining over.

Since I began recording snowfall ten years ago my lowest January snowfall has been 4.2 inches.  The model trend suggests this January may end up with 0.  The closest I've come to that was January 2013.  That month I had nothing until 0.1" on January 20th, then nothing else until a 6.0" storm on Jan 30th.  That winter went on to be very snowy after Feb 20th and didn't stop until late March.

season snowfall: 52.5"

My season total is still around 3 inches.  3 friggen inches!  I am not in a location down south either, this is Nebraska where we average 30.  Gunna need a major turnaround to avoid an extreme below average year.  Luckily the pattern looks promising for this area so we will have to wait and see.

Winter '12-'13 we had only 5 inches through Jan 29th, half as much as the current crap winter.  We ended up with 34 inches.  It did nothing but snow from Feb 21st to Mar 25th.

I remember that winter. Blocking was non existent through January and then like magic, both AO and NAO tanked through March and even into April I think.

2012-13 ended up one of only 2 below average winters here in the past 9 years. So, while I'm glad that winter turned to gold for somebody, sounds like you were in a lucky but narrow corridor that benefitted from the pattern flip. Speaking personally just for SMI, my original statement is valid. IF this were to go the route 2012-13 went for Iowa, it'd be the first time I'm aware of in roughly the last 50 yrs for SMI. I did read about a winter that had a similar remarkable flip for the UP of Mich. I think it was 01-02 iirc.

Nah, that's not going to happen when his buddy Pruitt lifts all restrictions on clean air and pumps the atmosphere full of C02. Expect summer conditions 10 months out of the year with a month for spring and a month for fall.

Can't believe the money I've wasted on Weatherbell this year and last. Frustration and futility. Why even be cold at all? Just a waste of electricity.

I used to think a lot of JB --- but lost a lot of confidence in him the last several winters. He covers his arse pretty good when things don't work his way-- this year will likely be that the E.Coast worked out and will forget about the epic bust in the C.PLains for both temps and snowfall. Flake to Flake??  Yeah whatever and it's snowing again in N Africa.  I wonder how many subscribers he has there?

I stopped paying weatherbell several years ago and thought I would just join in OCT this past year. Glad I didn't.
