My county (Boyd) is a bit on the lower end of hail sizes in reports. But I think at least once a year we get something around nickel-quarter size. One of the neighboring counties will see a 2+ inch hail sometimes.

In 2016 Lawrence County had baseball size hail. I think the general idea is that if you live in smaller communities, and off major highways, the storms are more severe.

Western KY also gets more severe wx. The last higher end tornado to occur within 100 miles of my area was in 2012 I think.

Overall it seems like models were slightly far to the west with the convection, I'm really glad Eugene and Seattle did really well. I would've liked some storms to show up here but I at least saw a few flashes of lightning and had some light rain which was nice.

Was leaving work in Bremerton to run home real quick before going back and ended up having to change cuz I totally spaced there was a chance of storms today and got completely soaked. Constant thunder rolling from Around 9:40 to 10:20ish.

I guess its not always the one stop towns that get hit hard. Danville KY had 3" hail in 2015. They have a population not far from Ashland's.

I didn’t get the best videos since it went right overhead I had to go inside. Storm was pretty legit though we also picked up 0.12” of rain which breaks a 35 day dry streak!

The 12z EURO trended cooler for PDX next Thu/Fru compared to the 00z. Instead of low 100s, it's showing upper 90s on Thu and low 90s on Fri. Wed did trend warmer and is showing 99 though.

I didnt notice last nights EPS run but you can clearly see it backing off a bit last two runs. Watching 12z closely...

66 here after a low of 60 and cloudy. Feels great outside. Euro doesn’t show any more activity this afternoon or evening which is unfortunate for those who missed out. Hopefully we can re do September 2019 next month.

Models continue to indicate the action up this way is yet to come, which is good news because so far there hasn’t been any.

The NMME forecast for Nov-Jan shows a strong signal for wetter than normal conditions for BC and the PNW. 🌧
