Looks like either a bird or an umbrella.

But it shows up in a 2nd photo in a different position.

Then it’s gone in the 3rd one. Which was 10secs later.

Birds can fly away quick. Umbrellas not so much.

Weird looking bird but I’ll go with that.

This run would have SEA break the 90s days record this weekend and then LR showing more 90s to close out the month.

Just seems more likely than not than this record will fall this year. Early Sept is still very capable of bringing some 90s.

Still 70 degrees here…got a NE breeze going so probably not getting down into the 50s tomorrow morning.

In twisp and It’s 80 here still…somehow. The problem with being 1000ft above the valley - we don’t get as hot during the day but we sure don’t cool down as well at night either. It’s 73 in the valley right now. Our max was 92 and valley topped out at 98.

The 0z GFS is just flat out better even in the short range.  The two mini troughs in the next 5 or 6 days will really help mitigate any hot weather.  Then of course the longer range is fantastic.

That probably really hurts your low temps in the winter as well.  The valleys can get pretty insane there.

The models have been toying with that progression the last couple of days.  I'm hoping for a dynamic finish to the month.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Yes…but it gets colder when it matters most. We get about twice as much snow as the valleys do

True, but those sub -30 and even -40 readings would be something to see.

We're probably going to see a lot of that stuff in the coming months.  Not holding my breath for January, but the spell has to break sometime.

I feel somewhat confident 1967 will keep the crown for hottest August for SEA.  It would take an extraordinary run for this year to top it.

Yep cold air sinks. Lots of times on a night with little to no wind it’ll be colder in the port of Tacoma than it is here up on the hill exposed to wind.
