Some pics from my son from their Enchancement Trail hike yesterday... 24 miles.    They slept in their cars in Leavenworth and started hiking before dawn.

I think I’ll stop now. It’s degraded into me getting too much pleasure from not suffering fools gladly. And that’s a significant drift from my original purpose, which was to point out the logical inconsistency between posting in a semi-public forum and expressing a desire for one’s posts to be ignored.

There’s times when I don’t want to deal with the regulars here (or even non-regulars) reacting to and responding to what I post. So when I feel that way, I don’t post anything here. I either stay away entirely, or I limit my usage of this site to lurking. And, just like magic, nobody is reacting to and responding to me! Amazing how well it works! My suggestion to stop posting was therefore an honest one, and is in fact something I myself do.

Reminds me of someone else here that lives in Bend

If you look at the duration of the dry season, it gets longer the further south you are. Starts and endings where precip mostly affects northern regions are therefore to be expected.

Spring was wet around the PNW, BC and northern WA were more targeted last November, I think Portland had more rain in April and June than Seattle but Seattle had more in May, and Bellingham was pretty dry in April.

Not exactly. Monsoonal storms are fun. It's the boring gray clouds that bring nothing but temperatures in the low 60s with useless drizzle and require you to wear a sweater and long pants in June that annoy me.

The wettest anomalies were actually focused over Oregon much of the spring

Pretty good agreement on the 12Z EPS and control run for later next week.    Confidence is growing in the first significant rain event of the season at least for the northern areas.

All three of those winters were pretty good here too. 1970-71 had more than 20" of snow in both Salem and Eugene, December 1983 had a major arctic blast and 2013 had a major arctic blast in December and snow in February.

I might be wrong but wasn't 2013/2014 a neutral winter?

13/14 was cold neutral. -ENSO flavor to the tropical forcing.

Nothing personal Dude, but I am so glad I don't live near that nightmare.  Actually used to commute to Puyallup for a few years from East Bremerton.  Not for the faint of heart..  I think it took years off my life!

In other news, no way they are done.  They will be tearing it up again soon.

You are spot on.  Pretty much how it was/is in Atlanta.  I-75 and I-85 both pass through Atlanta, and merge together to get through downtown (called the downtown connector).  It has pretty much been in some state of construction since I was a kid (late 70's/early 80's).  I think there was one time I went through when there wasn't construction (probably around the time of the Olympics), but every other time at least some portion of it has been under construction....widening, repaving, adding/removing/changing a bridge, on ramp or off ramp.  Even a few weeks ago, construction....  The other stretch of road under perpetual construction is GA-400.

And yeah, that took years off my life too.  At one point I was driving it 7 days a week either going to work or going to school.  It was a happy day when I moved up to Athens.

I might be a bigger jinx than Jim.

One day of quiet hurricane season posts, then this happens.

My first job I drove about 40 miles one way, depending on which freeway I took I could do it in almost 20 minutes. Granted it was a swing shift so traffic wasn't an issue.

40 miles/20 min or .33 hours = 121.21 MPH, that is fast!

It feels refreshing here today with a cool, almost constant ocean breeze. 65F currently, though stations near me are as low as 62, 63.  The majority of Everett is in the 64-65F range with the inland portions around 67F.  All overcast, no sun.  I am ready for autumn!

Hope everyone has an awesome Friday! :D Birthday tomorrow, plan to do nothing. First time in a decade I haven't worked on a birthday. Hope that remains the plan.

The Blob has been pulling the wool over our eyes about living in the PNW....they actually live in Germany and their commute is 90% autobahn.  😁
