Smoke saving the day

I don’t think the smoke is having much of an effect…maybe 1 degree or so. It’s a pretty thin layer. Was just the timing of the marine push.

Yep officially the hottest August on record for Spokane.  what a gross record

What's MFR looking at for Aug 2022? It's been a little harder for LMT to have a top 3, but Medford I know has broken the record at least once there recently.

What a difference one year makes. I see their average high came close to 90.

Last year actually had a close to normal August in Klamath, even though it featured impressive heat.

All in all it has been a spectacular summer for wildfires and especially the smoke. I know we’re heading into September tomorrow and we’re not completely out of the “woods” just yet but it’s looking fairly benign going forward. I’ll chalk it up as a win for this summer. Overall I give it a B-. It would’ve been an A if we had maybe some more thunderstorms and the heat over here wasn’t so oppressive.

Sorry Moss, it's a no for me. It was  still in the mid 80's twenty minutes ago though the sun set hours earlier. But seriously you're one of my favorite posters.

Just a bit north and you'd see a decent amount. Seems like we had a fair amount of ts this summer from Pendleton and NE to about Colfax or Pullman.

My son has his first day tomorrow. Every other class started on Tuesday but they had each kid do a state kinder test over the last two days.  I thought it was appropriate to have the first day fall on the start of meteorological Fall.

My son had a test run day before officially starting after Labor Day last year, it is nicer that schools up here start later.
