Hope its not to foggy on my drive home from Corvallis tonight. Going to the Oregon vs. Oregon St. basketball game, won't even be watching the Seahawk game. Don't care.

I don't mind driving in heavy rain, heavy snow, heavy winds, ect. But dense fog just plain sucks to drive in, I hate it! Be safe!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Thank you. With the cloudcover here it looks like the fog has thinned a bit in the valley. However, with clearing overnight it will probably thicken back up again.

That's awesome! Looks like a summer day in the background at your place!

Yeah... its nice here.

Noticing rain actually showing up now on the web cams in some places in Seattle!    Just perfect.

Nice improvement on the 12z ECMWF ensemble today. That positive center is VERY close to the sweet spot and the intensity of it is rapidly increasing at the end of the run.

It's actually getting more gloomy as the day wears on. Apparently we have some weak onshore flow right now.

She will need a tissue box in a few hours. As a Packer fan I got to go for the lesser of 2 evils.

She actually has no idea what is going on... she will be fine.   :)

Gloomy but dry up here! Come on sun!

Not going to happen today. In fact it appears Tim is about to get swallowed up in the muck if he hasn't already.

Yeah... its coming in now.   Still had a great day and even got some yardwork done in warm sunshine.

I would rather it get deeper right now so the conditions improve a little in Seattle.

Offshore flow coming back tonight and it will be sunny here all week.   :)

I wish we could have the inversion temperatures but with sunny skies. No question the offshore flow will be strong enough tonight to force the inversion lower again.

We need more topics in the NW section of the forum. Looks pretty pathetic to only have one topic on a forum. I will try to add some this week.

I hope you mean cold for us and warm for you!

That's exactly what I mean. Or at least warm for us. It looks like the AO/NAO will go positive, which I don't know for sure what effect that will have for the West Coast, but it looks like there will be a -PNA and MJO will be in phase 6 or 7, which both good for the west coast. I'm think by the end of the month that ridge breaks and you guys start actually seeing a little of winter, and then things start to warm up over here.

Hey, from the Midwest here. From what I see on long range models and teleconnections, I really think the beginning of February is when you guys are gonna start seeing the pattern change, as well as us over here.

Thanks for thinking about us. It's been pretty painful the past several weeks.

Todays 12Z CFS..FWIW.

The CFS is certainly picking up on something especially toward mid Feb. Most of the recent runs have been cold for most of Feb and particularly the final 1/2 or 2/3. Today's 12z ECMWF ensemble was really promising by Feb 2. A lot of tools are coming together showing something good for Feb.

Just like with the weather, you like to make things sound really dire.

I think Wilson ran for 200 yards backwards. Kaepernick was running over us at the time. Luckily he decided to make plenty of mistakes.

Eh, "overmatched" is a weird choice of words. Obviously Seattle matches up well with SF, it just took them a half to get it together. Being down 10 in the 2nd quarter isn't the end of the world.

I have a pretty good shot at having every low this week below freezing. This area does really well with these ultra damp inversions compared to most locations in the western lowlands due to drier air seeping in from the passes which lowers the dew point. So far from this inversion I've recorded...

It is amazing how well you have done. The lowest temperature I have recorded is still 35F, even though it hasn't really been that wet up here in terms of heavy fog.
