It looks like the AO/NAO will go positive, which I don't know for sure what effect that will have for the West Coast, but it looks like there will be a -PNA and MJO will be in phase 6 or 7, which both good for the west coast. I'm think by the end of the month that ridge breaks and you guys start actually seeing a little of winter, and then things start to warm up over here. Most of the recent runs have been cold for most of Feb and particularly the final 1/2 or 2/3. Today's 12z ECMWF ensemble was really promising by Feb 2. This area does really well with these ultra damp inversions compared to most locations in the western lowlands due to drier air seeping in from the passes which lowers the dew point.
