90F-burger again!

Cardinals S Jalen Thompson, picked in supplemental draft, is starting as rookie

We need to add a spinning cheeseburger react.. It's like Elvis Presley's diet these last few summers back there!

2022 outdid my estimate on fewer than 40 at KLMT. They're at 45 right now. Which is in top several highest number. Maybe @Doiinko can remind me what they are. Last year wasn't the record to my surprise.

Stukel Mountain has a fire today, if its like the other times they had one there, should be contained in time and not effect any homes.

I remember one there in October 2018, though this one has a lot more beef to it.

Hmm, it shows 41 at "Klamath Falls Area" but 44 (not including today) at KLMT. Which one is better to use? The first one seems to have a longer POR and it seems like there's a gap in KLMTs data 1970-2000? If you go by the "Klamath Falls Area" one, the 2022 would be at #6 since 1897.

I forget which one we both used, though both stations are not without their quality issues since they began.

Some of the 1990's might have had some faulty data, since 1992 and 1998 on NOWdata appear to have warmer months than their respective records on Mean temperature. June 1992 (+7.7), Aug 1998 (+6.4). July 1994 as well, is warmer than 2014. NWS lists August 1998 at third warmest on record, 1967 being #1 with a +5.0 departure. Not sure what to make of that.

40,000 people will likely have their power shut off 3-4 days. If it prevents fires it is worth it. That’s just PGE.

Pacific power has already announced the Santiam canyon will go dark in just over 24 hours.

This may be the last weekend with potentially near 90s weather. Fall is here by mid-month and look right on schedule.

Of course we said that a week ago too.   But yeah... not going to hold back the true seasonal change much longer.    Its right on schedule.   Jarad has said that PNW summer weather generally follows astronomical summer from mid-June through mid-September and this year is going to fit that mold perfectly.

And we're finally having movement... the western heat is being shifted to the plains and east -- outta here.

The 00Z GFS has similar timing to the 12Z EPS in pushing the troughing through the west.

FWIW... the 00Z GEM has a very different idea in the 7-10 day range.    Almost looks like the pattern this week repeating.   It will be interesting to see if the ECMWF goes in that direction.

I've always believed this as well.

Unfortunately for me, I'm leaving a current summer climate right now into a very tropical one (Going to VN) next week for a couple weeks coming back Oct. 1st. It's currently not bad over there now but every day is pretty much a thunderstorm fest.  Maybe I'll come back to some PWN rain and not tropical rain.
