KPTV's fire smoke forecast for tomorrow afternoon. Looks like a good day to head out to the Coast.

Is this assuming that fire near Oakridge doesn’t keep exploding?

Yeah, WRF caught on to this as well. Kinda weird but possible I suppose as the valley inversions return.

I was looking at the WRF and it shows the strongest winds here at 10am tomorrow during that time while the Clark County foothills are getting strong wind. Are the other models showing it as well?cgw_wgsfc.29.0000.gif

Probably, the model seems to update every few hours so it should give us a better forecast at every update.

So we need to be prepared for the possibility that the upper Willamette Valley is gonna be a smoke nightmare for the next couple days…

That map is for sfc level smoke, so I'd assume its output for the coast will be pretty accurate no matter what the Oakridge fire does, since its smoke would stay well aloft and be pretty hesitant to mix with the marine layer right by the water, which is where the air at the coast will be coming from.

Yeah, most models show a decent burst late tomorrow morning across most of the metro as the overnight inversions break.

And I’m going off what we can expect tomorrow if today “isn’t bad” — it’s going to be worse tomorrow.

you can say it’s clearing in the foothills now all you want. It’s a brief break.

Winds have been calm most of the day in Redmond until about 2 hours ago. Now they have picked up considerably from the north as earlier it was a light drift from the north. Haven’t seen the trees move like this since last early spring. Barely a haze out there but I assume that will change tomorrow and Sunday. Good luck all and be safe.

Conditions have worsened further for Western Washington and Western Oregon.  Below are air quality stations from earlier in the day, and currently (6:00pm).  Now the South Sound is seeing worse air quality.  There was slight improvement (Still bad) for NE Washington.

Now all of Oregon is moderate or worse when earlier in the day, some areas were okay.

There is gonna be some very colorful sunsets tonight.  Here is the smokey skies above Bellingham, live as of a few seconds ago.

Spokane as well, live a few seconds ago.  Smokey skies for sure, obscuring the mountains.

Not for long though if models are to be believed.  They will be among the worst.  But for this evening, yes.  Tomorrow gets bad. The Olympic Peninsula's NW area might also escape all this for the most part.

Things have actually improved here IMBY at the surface, it doesn't smell smokey, but interestingly enough, the breeze is warmer than earlier today.  Also, everything does have that lovely orange tint of smoke filtered sunlight.
