Pretty hard to call that gorgeous trough a buzz kill.  Then you have the fact that anything after a week is bound to change anyway.

I just want a meaningful rainfall. The flora needs a drink. I’m tired of looking at brown grass and droopy leaves. It’s already too late for a lot of native plants, shrubs, and trees.

I get it.  I'm just such a sucker for sharp -PNA troughs though.  FWIW the GFS is likely to be wrong about the quick warmup after the trough.  The ensemble means have been advertising a double punch of cold troughs.  It could warmup again, but it will probably take longer than this run advertises.

You’re really bad at this.

He specifically referenced ski resorts. Was I supposed to respond to something that wasn’t actually written?

Yeah I remember that 😂 definitely seemed like he didn’t think mountain snowpack was important.

That’s right, I never understood the importance of a healthy snowpack going into the warm/dry season.

I also work for the lizard government at Qanon headquarters on planet-X.

This thunderstorm blew up just after sunset.

Some of the light from the horizon was reflecting off the cloud, giving off the glow as a result.

Pretty warm night.   Looks like SEA did not drop below 60.   The 70+ degree streak might end today with persistent low clouds and for sure will end this week.   But the ECMWF and EPS and control run all show ridging and a warm up next week.

Just like that it appears summer is over.  No 80 degree days shown for SEA.  I can't wait to see what kind of numbers the rest of the month puts up.

We are running a +13F for the month so far in Tahoe. We will need an epic blizzard sometime this month to come close to average. I actually don't see anyway we dont set the record for warmest Sept.

maybe some lows in the upper 30s next week.  we'll see, bring it.  then it will probably get hot/warm again to go into October.  fire/smoke season far from done on this side.  probably will go until it snows this year

Far from done on this side too.

12z GFS would be something if it verified for Sunday. Bend struggles to break out of the 30s lol. Summer to winter in a week

And then maybe back to summer again.
