Yeah...you guys need some rain. Nice to at least see the NorCal fires getting completely soaked and suppressed. Fire season likely done down there. Super quiet season for them.

Not quite. They will need more rain since Sept / Oct is their traditional fire season due to wind patterns and lack of fog for norcal. But certainly this has been beneficial!

Currently the nearby weather station has us at 58F. My current one says 71F but for about three hours after sunrise it is usually not the best judge as it is on the east side of our house then it drops normally once the sun is higher.

They traditionally do not see 1-3" of rainfall in September though! SoCal isn't out of the woods of course but this looks like a season ending event in NorCal to me and the rainfall is still ongoing.

I will say this, I'm glad nearly every region in CA has had some sort of rain event over the last two weeks. Beneficial to all areas.

Cool morning and warming up nicely. Anyone else getting a bumper crop of tomatoes?

Bucket fulls now.  This dry weather is nice for tomatoes to ripen given the late start.  Usually the rains force you to pick them by now now to prevent splitting

Our tomato production is incredible right now.   They just keep coming.   It was not a green tomato summer.  👍

That’s a lot of rain in the eastern foothills of the coast ranges in Tehama/Glenn/Colusa counties. That area is normally heavily rainshadowed.

Actually only dropped to 50 at the stations up here... and up to 70 now.

You have to take into account that we are elevated from the valley floor and more wind exposed.   Sorry to disappoint you.   👍

ECMWF shows that trough next week dissolves as it moves east in favor of more troughing over Alaska.   The GFS is showing the same general idea.    Seems to be the way things have been going for quite some time now.

Also... the panhandle of Florida might be under the gun next week.

All models are having issues figuring out next week, but the trend of cutting off energy well offshore for it to only weakly be reabsorbed as a minor wave for a resetting ridge isn't great.

Portland sandwich. Lake Oswego must be nearly empty by now. 😂

Not looking too great for you either. I’m sure the north/south gradient will play out soon enough, but for now, a lot of us on this blog even in the north are living in some of the driest locations on earth for the past 90 days. Can’t get meaningfully drier than the .22’’ we have had in that timeframe. Looks like we could go 100+ days with less than .25’’ of QPF.

The lake will be fine one way or another.
