I think you would like it way better there.  Much prettier, much colder on the mins, and snowier of course.

Yeah we will see. I do get a pretty sweet deal where I live now and I’m only a few blocks away from the beach. Tacoma has gotten a bit crazy with the crime and you guys know about my crazy nieghbor…so we will see what happens.

We had some fun while boating on Lake Tapps on Sunday and went to a couple open houses... just pulled boat up to their docks and walked up.   There are some beautiful homes on that lake and its way more affordable than Lake Sammamish and Lake Washington.  We were contemplating what it would be like to live in Bonney Lake on the water.  👍

I lived in Maple Valley (the King County version of Bonney Lake) for 11 years and I would choose the North End of Tacoma in a heartbeat.

The pics from your deck also have me Zillowing waterfront homes in the Gig Harbor area all time.

I could handle living in a place like this...

I do like it here I just have the situation with my nieghbor unfortunately. It’s just an idea at the moment if it weren’t for my situation I’d definitely want to stay here.

Yeah, that sucks.  Mostly just making the point that there’s more to consider than an extra inch or two of sloppy snow every year.

Gig Harbor is nice.

I was trying to convince my wife during our trip to Bend that we should retire there, but it would be hard to leave the Puget Sound. Time will tell.

Yeah... I don't think we can live far from water.    And would prefer now to be on the water.    And the Puget Sound region in general is really hard to beat.

For me the area just isn't the same as it used to be.  I really hope to move to an area with a more enjoyable climate.

The group I’m going with will do some side trips….Mostar really does look cool.  So hope to explore a little.

Will be back though…this trip just opens the door for me :)

I highly recommend Spain....anywhere really.  I went to Madrid and down to Toledo, and my Mother in law went to Barcelona and absolutely loves it.  A friend of mine is British, and they always head to the Spanish Mediterranean coasts for their vacations.  Scotland is amazing too.

Yeah as much as I’m into weather…I wouldn’t pick a location just based on climo. Commute…proximity to cool places to go and things to do is a much bigger realistic factor. I really do love north end one of the best places to live in the Puget sound area which is already one of the best places to live in this country.

I lived in Maple Valley for 11 years. During marginal events we might get some flakes in the air or a small accumulation of wet snow where lower elevations got rain. But it was one or two days out of 365 each year. It was fun when it happened but it wasn’t that big of a difference.

The average of the last several CFS runs show January being the most likely month to be cold this winter.  Seasons that get started late usually perform the best in either Jan or Feb if they work out at all.

A lot of people would debate you on this being one of the best places to live.  I will say I used to like it more than I do now.

Even with some of the problems that don’t need to be discussed on the main board…it’s an awesome place. Tacoma has changed in my lifetime but it’s still really nice here. Climo isn’t too bad either. Not the best spot for snow or cold overnight lows…but in the summer the edge is taken off the heat a bit. Good spot for winds too. Winds can really rip here out of the south during windstorms and offshore wind events out of the north and east can be fun.

Is it really possible the next 2 weeks could be as bad as the ensembles are showing?  No matter what the atmosphere tries to do to change the pattern something messes it up.

The patterns have just locked in ferociously this year.  I would love to see that happen with a good pattern for once.

Western Washington has some very nice areas. My uncle used to live in Bellingham and it was gorgeous. I like the Olympia area too. My wife has family friends in Port Angeles and it seemed nice, but I have not spent much time there. Eastern Washington is not really my jam, but I like Spokane and places north of there and where Snowmizer has a cabin seem nice. And of course Leavenworth is beautiful, but I don’t think I would want to live in such a tourist town.
