18Z GEFS is much less troughy next weekend than the operational run... no idea if that means anything.

It means you're going to be "Truman Showered" while the rest of us bask in mid 70's and sunshine.

The models are adamant about that block developing over the Western GOA.  I'm really stoked about that.  Certainly lends credence to the early part of the winter being good.

Looks like the westerly wind is working it's magic clearing out the last of the smoke.   It's really clearing out the low level moisture as well.

99 in Bozeman today, 100 at the airport and 95 IMBY. Hottest day since August 2018 and hottest September day on record with records going back to 1892 in town.

Smoke cleared out this morning so maximum thermal energy was achieved.

Bit hazy with smoke here but after we had a brief cell pass nearby, the sky is a bit clearer. Currently 80 degrees here. Thought about going to the Battle of the Palouse with my 6yo but with the smoke and cooler temps possible in two weeks per models, I might just take him to the WSU v. CSU game instead.

Does he hand out apologies for other weather that is miserably uncomfortable... like cold sideways rain for weeks on end?  😀

I love 38F sideways rain for weeks on end because I actually love the PNW. That's why I live here, for that exact climate.

Couldn't imagine moving specifically here with any other expectation or preference in mind... ;)

So apologies are based on your preferences.  😀   Uncomfortable is uncomfortable!   I can sit outside in the shade when it's 85 and be perfectly comfortable.   Can't do anything with 38 degree sideways rain except get hypothermia.

But we also have an abundance of comfortable weather.    Such as 50 degree days in the dead of winter with sunshine and 78 degree days in the summer with low humidity.   Way more comfortable days than where I grew up in Minnesota where it's usually bitter cold or sweltering hot.

Kayla agreed. Feel like my assumption of her preferences was pretty apt.

On an added note, I love being uncomfortable. The feeling of abject pain and smothering dampness brings a chattering smile to my withered face.
