Went on an interesting hike today in the Mt. Hood National Forest. First had some splendid views of the mountains with pretty comfortable temps (and no smoke!). Then found some old airplane wreckage from the crash of West Coast Airlines Flight 956. Definitely a somber little area but pretty fascinating how intact so much of the debris still is after 56 years up there. Even found one of the tires.

10-day precip map from the 00Z GFS.   Shows a little tropical moisture into SoCal... but not much.    And nothing farther north like the 00Z run yesterday showed.

Going through my 33,082 pictures this evening and came across this one…I instantly felt 40 degrees cooler just looking at it!!

I had 14" of snow from the 10 days between the 1st and the 11th! Of course most of it fell on one night but I did have some snow on the first and some snow/ice on the 7th/8th. Sadly WA didn't get much snow but February 2019 was good there!

PDX dropped to 17 twice with the airmass before the big snowstorm.

Yeah down here the best part of the month was before the big snow event. We had a big event on the 1st, and then a few inches on the 7th, pretty sure that was SLE's last sub-30 high. After the big snow, it was more of an inversion pattern, and wasn't as cold up here. 32/24 type days.

Yeah it’s coming. It’s over. Enjoy the next few days.
Had a low of 49. Currently 54.
Wish we had the rainfall here that Kirkland had last evening, had a 60% wet deck but nothing measurable in the gauge.
