Had .24” of rain on Monday and nothing since then, so that now means it’s rained 2x since 9/23.

October is going to end well above average and November start that way too with temps in the upper 60s and 70s. In fact lows next week look to be near the normal highs for the year which will have fallen into the 50s.

Looks like they will need to start using fake grass on their lawns soon too.

Yesterdays official H/L at Grand Rapids was 52/29 that 29 is the coldest official reading for this fall season so far. There was no rain fall and there was 84% of possible sunshine. The overnight low here in MBY was 33 and the official low at GRR looks to have been 35 so far. At this time it is 35 here with cloudy skies. For today the average H/L is now down to 55/38 The record high for today is 74 set in 1989 and the low for the date is 23 set in 1965 and 1969. The record snow fall is 3.5” set in 1925 the H/L for today in 1925 was just 32/25. Last year the H/L was 61/49.

Nice autumnal weekend on the way. Temps will struggle to escape the 50's for afternoon highs. Rain chances increase on Monday PM. Following that much warmer weather with above normal temperatures likely for at least the next 10 days.
The record high for today is 84 degrees from 1919. The record low is 17 degrees set in 1936. Daily rainfall record is the 1.60" in 1902.

All historical weather data analytics posted by me is specifically for the climate of Chester County PA.  We continually analyze the actual raw non-adjusted NWS certified Coop observed climate data for Chester County.  There have been no post observation adjustments to any of the detailed analytics. All data is sourced from trained NWS observers and spotters. The life blood of science is to challenge what is thought to be known. The concept that climate change etc. is somehow “settled science” describes a religion - a belief system that does not welcome challenges. We should all continue to challenge science!    Snow Totals 2023/24 = 24.5" -  11/28 (0.3") / 12/7 (0.8") / 12/11 (0.8") / 1/6 (2.0") / 1/16 (2.8") / 1/19 (4.5") / 2/13 (10.5") / 2/17 (2.8")

#TGIF...Another Top Notch Autumn day is expected here in the valley with a high near 80F.  PHX topped out yesterday at 81F (85F is normal).  Our stretch of BN days should continue through the weekend and into next week.  The next big trough is forecast to dig farther south into SoCal by Wed/Thu and really tank temps here into the upper 60's for highs.  The locals here aren't ready for this type of cool weather, esp the snow birds.

And the string of great fall days continues. Yesterday the official H/L at Grand Rapids was 59/34 there was no rain fall and 82% of possible sunshine. The trees in my area are either bare or have color but very few if any have green leaves on them at this time. The overnight low so far and current temperature is 31 at GRR the low so far looks to have been 32. For today the average H/L is now 55/38 the record high of 77 was in 1901 and the record low of 20 was in 1969. The record snowfall amount of 1.6” was in 1906. A fun fact for the winter season of 1906/07 the total snow fall that season was just a reported 30.1” but of that 2.6” fell in October and 3.1” fell in April. On this date last year the H/L was 53/49 and there was 0.34” of rain fall.

While it may be due to Houghton being closer to the lake than I am but for some reason there seems to be more leaves or about the same on the trees in Houghton than we have here in parts of the Grand Rapids metro area.

It is now light out and there is a good amount of frost once again this morning.

A near normal temperature day today with plenty of sun. Some light rain is possible tomorrow...hopefully not enough to impact Game 3 of the World Series (Go Phillies!)
After that we should warm to a nice above normal stretch of Indian Summer weather with high temps in the mid to upper 60's for the rest of the first week of November.
The record high for today is 82 degrees set in 1946. Our record low is 21 degrees set in 1928. The daily rainfall record is 1.48" in 1935.

The string of great fall weather continues as yesterday was yet another great day. The official H/L at Grand Rapids was 64/32 with no rain fall and 100% of possible sunshine. The overnight low here in MBY was 34 it is now up to 36 and that 36 looks to be the official overnight low at GRR. For today the average H/L is 55/38 the record high of 79 was recorded in 1950 and the record low of 18 was set in 1988. The record snow fall for today is 1.5” set in 1923. Happy Halloween! Yesterday was yet another warm late October day with the official H/L at Grand Rapids of 62/36 there was no rain fall and 22% of possible sunshine. Last night was a very mild night and the overnight low here in MBY was just 49. It looks like that 49 was also the official low at GRR. I now have a temperature of 50 with some light mist. I had 0.04” of rain fall overnight. For today the average H/L is now down to 54/38 note the average daily high is falling faster than the overnight lows. The record high of 79 was set in 1950 and the record low of 20 was set in 1988. The record snow fall of 1.5” fell in 1917 the last miserable snow fall on this date was in 2017 when 0.4” fell. The next week looks to continue the warm fall weather with highs in the mostly in the 60’s

A lot of our trees are now bare.  I have five small trees and they are all bare.  Just a couple weeks ago a few of my trees were still green and full.  The back-to-back hard freezes really flipped the switch.  Now I'm just waiting for my neighbor's giant oak tree to dump its leaves so I can collect them for my garden/compost.  I hope they drop this week while it's warm and dry.

My neighbor has a giant oak tree; it seems like they take forever to drop all their leaves! My garden is in my back yard and I have a maple tree right next to it. It's nice that all the leaves fall right on the garden for my compost! I still have a couple rows of potatoes to finish digging before I till for the last time.

Gosh, it seems like a lot of you are past peak around the MW/GL’s.  I remember coming back home from AZ after Thanksgiving and there were still leaves on the trees.  Nature saying something? My neighbor took a pic of my yard and it looks like I got a lot of work to do!

I would not call it warm but with the dew point in the mid 50's it dose feel a little humid out today. I would think that there have not been too many Halloween's that have felt that way here in Grand Rapids.

Our great stretch of autumnal weather will continue with well above normal temps through the middle of next week. We will then cool back to about normal. Mainly dry weather except for late Saturday night into Sunday AM.
The record high for today is 82 degrees set back in 1950. The record low was set the very next year with a 17 degree reading in 1951. The daily rainfall record is 1.24" from 1910.
