Popular Post CliffMassYelledAtMe
Lurker since Jan 2019. Finally decided to make an account. Just here to share my only prediction for the season. Big weather event coming Thurs Dec 15 when Seahawks host 49ers and possibly another around New Years when Seahawks host Jets (1/1/23). Analogs: 1. Hannukah Eve Storm Thurs Dec 14, 2006 vs 49ers 2. Holmgren good-bye Snow Game Dec 31, 2008 vs Jets History doesn't repeat itself, but sometimes it rhymes? (Just kidding but maybe someone who knows math could say the astronomical odds of having similar events years apart and 1 day later...) Seems like 2022 would be the year of weird where something like that could happen. We may get three big ones in a decade once we get the monkey off our backs. It still blows my mind we used to get a super cold one at least once a decade prior to the 1980s. Off the top of my head, these were all colder than anything we have had since 1969. 1862, 1868, 1875, 1888, 1890, 1907, 1909, 1916, 1929, 1930, 1937, 1949, 1950, 1957, 1963, 1969 Northern areas were also very cold in January 1911. 1913, 1922 and 1943 also deserve honorable mention they were all about as cold as Jan 1979 and 1980. 2 Quote Death To Warm Anomalies! NWbyNW
The very first Winter Weather Advisory of The Season Has Begun for parts of the Cascades! We got storms lined up all week and snow and cold temps in the mountains! At the moment, mostly scattered showers. Thanks Accuweather (my least favorite weather source) for the handy little map.

TigerWoodsLibido
Sun is out. Partly cloudy and up to 59F. Looks like we got down to 48F last night so we will be about +2.3F on the day. Very pleasant and warm-ish fall day with a few showers at times but none for several hours now. 1 Quote Springfield, Oregon regular season 2023-24 Stats: Coldest high: 25F (Jan 14, 2024) Coldest low: 20F (Jan 14, 2024) Days with below freezing temps: 24 (Most recent: Mar 8, 2024) Days with sub-40F highs: 4 (Most recent: Jan 16, 2024) Total snowfall: 0.0" Total ice: 2.25” Last accumulating snowfall on roads: Dec 27, 2021 (1.9") Last sub-freezing high: Jan 15, 2024 (27F) Last White Christmas: 1990 Significant wind events (gusts 45+): 0 Personal Stats: Last accumulating snowfall on roads: Dec 27, 2021 Last sub-freezing high: Jan 16, 2024 (32F) Last White Christmas: 2008 Total snowfall since joining TheWeatherForums: 42.0" Sub-freezing highs since joining TheWeatherForums: 4 Venmo GoFundMe "College Basketball vs Epilepsy": gf.me/u/zk3pj2 My Twitter @CBBjerseys4hope
NWbyNW
Beautiful sun breaks mixed with clouds that are white, gray, and deep gray. There are showers one minute, then none the next. Very frigid cold out there today, much colder than the temps say. It has that biting crisp in the air here with a cool ocean nip to it. Sitting at 50F.
