Live cam from Issaquah... its unusually green and leafy for being almost November.     The trees in our area are still mostly green as well.   I would guess it was mid to late September just by looking at our yard.   It is probably related to the late leaf out and the warmth this fall.

I have noticed a lot of trees are finally starting to get the message as to what season it is now that the colder temperatures are here.

It's called clown range for a reason.

The Aspen in my yard just turned yellow this week. About 2-3 weeks later than normal.

From this morning’s ride into the office. Sorry about the dirt on the lens.

I am sure there are strips of landscape trees around here that look the same... but the native trees in the forest canopy here are unusually green for this point in the fall.

It's another one of them East coast Weather Weenies!

FWIW... the ECMWF weeklies also show the troughing and cold centered in the Midwest and NE by early December as well.

Good lord…The burn ban was lifted at 6am and there are already people burning in their yard and creating the same stench as we just endured for the last month straight…What is peoples obsession with fire and smoke??

Okay rant over. Weenie tag away if you wish.

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

Nice. Even a dusting to the coast in Southern California.  🤩

I never take those gray amounts seriously. At least it shows most of us as being in the blue (or better). Standard disclaimers about clown range still apply.

I was being totally sarcastic. 46 day ensemble snowfall maps are about as useful as something my 3 year old could draw. 😂

I have never fully outgrown my teenage pyro phase. Am looking forward to helping friends winterize their cabin in Boston Bar for the season in a few weeks. One highlight will be using their burn barrel to dispose of the past years’ yard and garden waste. I can usually get that thing glowing red hot with the proper stoking policy.

We ended up with a little over an inch of rain overnight. Up to 3.22" on the month. Starting to look like we will not make it quite to average this month, but not bad all things considered.

I agree with you, this winter ain't it. We've had a lot of good ones but we are due for a few duds and like you have pointed out many times with never being wrong, we should just expect warm and benign.

Not positively expecting a dud La Niña this winter, but wouldn’t be surprised if one happens. So long as it’s not a total droughty torch, I will not make any big complaints.

Well if you guys get a dud hopefully the storm track is pointed our direction ala 2004 and not a 1991-1992 region wide dud.

Honestly it's a bit concerning when the 46 day ensemble map is only showing a few inches for most of the lowlands.

We may be screwed, guys....

Euro and GFS continue to be world's apart on total precip. Actually, GFS is still on Mars

Yeah, I was going to say the Euro still has 2-3 times as much precip over the next week as the GFS. GFS looks to actually be almost below average for the Puget Sound.

Can't tell if sarcasm, but the 46 days gets us to only December 9th. How much snow do the lowlands usually get by the beginning of the second week of December?

The Euro and GEM seem a lot wetter than the GFS right now.
