The ECMWF spits out a 36/26 for SEA on day 9.  That is pretty legit.

Pretty good agreement this far out between the GFS and EURO with a system about to come onshore next Tuesday evening. The GFS just has more colder air make its way into the Columbia River Basin. Even then, the EURO also is showing snow down to the Valley floor.

It’s just Goofus being Goofus. I will eat a bug if we see single digits in the lowlands with the coming event. Edit: with the possible exception of cold spots like OLM… and even that is a really distant chance.
