Looks like if it does happen it will be later in the afternoon and will be very brief. The morning will be brutal!

Between what the GGEM shows above and the EURO's predicted highs, it is going to be a wet snowfall.

I know the Gem has had it's high qpf moments but still fun to look at especially if it gets some luv from the other models.

Yup, it looks similar to the 0Z Euro run. I think the GFS is too suppressed and will likely begin to amp up as we get closer. I think Chicago is in a good spot for now.

Looking forward to it, a wet snow (if it happens this far north) would be nice, since they have staying power and almost all of our snow this year has been of the fluffy variety.

Since I wasn't here for the last cold snap, this is a real treat! Walked outside and was pleasantly surprised by the brutal cold! Only -4 here as of now with a predicted low of -24, definitely not a good day or night be outside. Looking forward to this system coming up, that would be an awesome way to end and start a new month!

Temperature actually went up a degree here. About 4° above guidance. Thinking about -15° or so tonight.

Oh yeah, my bad.  I think it's better than the GEM, but the GEM goes out further, so in the medium to long range, hard to say with certainty the UKIE is much better than the GEM.  Either way, I think it's a toss up whether we can get an amped wave to impact the likes of Chicago and Milwaukee, or everything will stay suppressed.
