Very bad situation right now

Just found out they have put him into basically a chemically induced coma and will put in a lot of antibiotics to fight the Sepsis because his cancer chemotherapy has reduced the number of cancer cells he's having.

They are hoping (and praying) that he will live long enough for his body to conquer the infection.

Sorry to hear the sad news, Ice.

I know, this is becoming a creepy coincidence, I lost my grandfather to Terminal Cancer on November 4th of last year (2021). :(

Cancer sucks.

That is how I lost my Grandfather to it.

Sepsis is scary enough for many, but its extremely dangerous to those with a compromised immune system.

I do have an update before bedtime unless something crazy happens.

He is not in a Coma, but on a Ventilator. He can communicate with his wife (My Great Aunt), but not verbally. It also appears that he's doing slightly better, but that can't be too sure about it. They may have caught it just in time.

I'm in severe shock right now, my great uncle-in-law who has cancer has been admitted to the ICU this morning with Sepsis. Now he's going downhill very fast. :(

I’m so sorry to hear this. I hope he’s stable and good news on the horizon.   This seems to be going around.
My brother in law has been in the hospital and was admitted into ICU   He’s still there. A bad heart, lung congestion and diabetic. Not good.
I keep waiting for the phone to ring in the middle of the night.
Theres something about Fall that challenges peoples health.  I hope he rallies and improves. A very difficult time. I’m sorry.

I'm sorry to say this, but my uncle-in-law gone. :(

They had to take him off the ventilator because his wife (and possibly him) requested to do so because the Sepsis inside him was spreading, and his lungs were filling up with fluids faster than it could be drained.

My condolences, Ice.  At least he is not suffering anymore.

I know, it's just my late grandfather 2 days from today 1 year ago. When he was confirmed with the Terminal Cancer in Late October 2021, he refused treatment because it would only extend his suffering. He was ready to go.

I’m very sorry for the loss of your family, Ice.
I have lost all of mine and have begun with my husband’s. A brother in law in Hospital now. It is never easy but my thoughts are with you, friend.  Stay strong.

Lost my mom to metastisized skin cancer when I was in college.  Definitely a fear I have.

Just gotta keep on going whatever happens.

I am sorry to hear this. I know we go back and forth about stuff on the politics forum, but this genuinely made me sad to read. I lost my mom to cancer as well when I was in college. It was very tough, and honestly took me about 10 years to truly process in a realistic way and come to terms with. We were very close, and for many years I pretended it did not bother me and put off the grieving process in a way that ate me up inside. Our family was very close and she was the glue that held us together, we have never been the same in the 16 years since her passing, I miss that.

The really sad and brutal part is that all three relatives I've lost in the past 12-13 months were very close to me and me to them. :(
