Is the GFS just mischaracterizing precip type, or does it predict temperatures that are consistently too cold? If so, why?

0Z NAM has a pretty snowy solution but does transition to rain.

GFS still toying with the idea of beating up on the PV a bit. Since it can’t do anything right near the surface, perhaps it can at 40,000 feet…

The 00z Euro says I should have picked up 2-5" in the last 6 hours. How can it possibly be so wrong at hour 6? And it's not like it's just my location. I don't think any place under 1000' has picked up anywhere near that amount tonight.

These weather apps are annoying. The general public really believes it will snow the entire week. SMH.

The ridge is dancing back and forth between two configurations. Might explain the oscillatory behavior someone noticed earlier.

Just realized, this storm is snowier on GFS largely because of a difference in precipitation amounts.
