A skiff starting to form on a lot of surfaces. The fact that DT Seattle isn't the best location for sticking snow is very much prescient here.

Good thing I live 11 miles NE! 🥰

Yah, it's not sticking much here in SODO but my location when I left at about 260ft was sticking fast. Elevation matters... even by just a little.

Interesting wind shift at the onset of the snow at SEA. From SE to N/ESE??

2022-23 Winter:

11/29: .25" + 1" = 1.25" | 11/30: .25"

12/2: .2" + .5" = .7" | 12/3: .2" | 12/4: trace

12/18: .4" | 12/19: .2" + .8" = 1.0" | 12/20: .2 + 1.5" = 1.7

1/31: trace | 2/14: trace | 2/22: .2 | 2/26: 1.0"

Total: 6.7"

Washington posters going hard on jinxing Portland. Totally unnecessary. We all know how this will play out.

Gotta figure out a way to reverse the n/s curses lately. We simply don't have enough Portland area posters to reverse the reverse jinx. Now I gotta scroll through twenty thousand sounder snow photos to find a GFS map showing 1.1" here for optimism. It's FINE we're doing GREAT extremely hopeful we can thread the needle here with the system later this week what could go wrong

Warmed up real quick at 3 am. Went from 24 to just under 32. Now dew points are dropping again and I'm at about 2 flakes per minute lol

Precip is having no problem overcoming the dry air here... its snowing pretty hard now.

Check out the newest edition, including an enlightening chapter on why it never snows in the PNW thanks to permanently warm ground temps.
