[Cold Snap]

Woke up to this! Currently 31 after a low of 24. Tied for coldest min so far this season.

In Everett on the valley floor, snow picked up about 30 minutes ago. Dendrites started to cluster and show signs of a warm layer making its way in but then refreezing. I'll be curious to see any upper level obs to show how far that warmth made it. Air temps went from 29º to 31º pretty quick and ground sensors temps weirdly shot up to 36º.

Probably over an 1/2” in Kent. 150’ winter came in hard at 8:30am.

Actually snowing here, pretty scene.  Snowing in town as well it’s just about a degree warmer there so it isn’t sticking.

This came in quite a bit earlier than modeled.  Do you think we see an earlier transition to rain, then back to snow earlier as well?

Meanwhile, we've got a dusting already and light snow falling here in Puyallup. 

It's now time to ignore models for today. Check data from stations around the area. i like to watch Shelton and Olympia out towards the coast to get a good idea. Snow in Aberdeen is always a good sign for the sound. When the coast switches to rain it normally takes 3-6 hrs for that switch to reach the south sound.

Todays our first measurable November snowfall since 2017. If we get over 1/2” in Tacoma it’ll be the biggest since 2010. If not we probably get it tomorrow night.

Seems like there was room in the last thread for the final two days of the month. Didn’t we lose all history of the December 2021 events thanks to this sort of thing.

Holding at 32 at OLM, we will see how long it lasts. Light snow, struggling to stick to roads though.

Warmed up quite a bit in the last few hours, but it’s holding steady at 32. Snow has really picked up here. Not accumulating on roads yet. We’ll see how long the cold lasts, it does feel like warmth is coming.

Looks like the moisture is still getting eaten up by the outflow up here.  Good to see everyone down south scoring, especially places that weren't supposed to see anything.

My theory is that you can smell snow when it's cold (not necesarily freezing) and the dew point is below freezing.
