95 wasn't a great year if I recall for the PS area.

Great windstorm in December which included a little snow afterwards if I remember correctly! Then January had a lovely blast!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

If it is not smoke, it's something else.  We cannot escape bad air quality this year.  The sky is looking quite smoggy around the foothills and AQI's are dropping around the Lower Mainland BC and northwestern Washington.  Looking pretty gross.

The inversion is real over here.  Just got home and the Davis says we got up to a boiling 30.0 today.

And 60 degrees in parts of the mid-Willamette valley today. Crazy stuff. Much more seasonable to the north and south though. 51/29 spread so far here, down to 50 now.

Yeah it almost looked like October again this morning while on I-5 driving south from Mt Vernon. Lots of people burning their wet crap in this area yesterday it seemed like.

It would be weird if we were to see a repetitive pattern of ARs followed by cold troughs throughout November and December.

Loved the fog this morning. Is there any town/place in Western WA where the fog gets to be heavy Silent Hill-like fog where you can’t see past 100 feet? I’ve never experienced it but I’d love to wake up in that atmosphere in a cozy cabin.

I’m going to try and find a good place to set this up. Unfortunately there really aren’t a lot of unobstructed places I can put these except the roof. And our house is on a brick foundation so it will fall apart completely when the big earthquake hits.

At the very least I will get another digital reading besides just the one on the PWS (which I hope isn’t broken).

Our yard is in bad shape. Despite the house being worth over half a million, we have kids and have gotten them a lot of stuff over the last few years. Since I don’t know when I’m gonna die then I just want to make sure that I’m able to give them as much happiness as possible during the few times I get to see them down here.

This is all 4 directions of where I could set up the rain gauge. Andrew did a good job setting up the PWS on the roof.

I ended up with 54/26 today.  First time it has gotten to 50 in many days.  The east wind made an attempt to get in here, but it was apparently short lived.

49/36 today. We’re running -3.7 so far this month. The temps haven’t been crazy but it’s been consistently colder than normal this entire month. Not really a fan of the inversion pattern though just eventually turns into nasty smog.

I think I'm running around -5 to -6 for the month to date.  39.8 average so far.

Models are in good agreement for the strong MJO wave to move into region 7 late this month.  Get the cold weather gear ready.

The ECMWF shows another week of cold nights for many locations.  The CAA coming up will mix the atmosphere a bit, but after that it shows things really decoupling.

College hoops is so chaotic that it's tough to bet on. Plus I would never do that because I will always maintain the integrity of college hoops in my mind. If you're gonna bet on anything it should mostly be pro player props.

The sportsbook at the Suquamish casino is about 5 minutes from my house.  During the NCAA tourney last March, I won about 300.00 there.  Lots of fun.

Oh trust me, I would probly have made tens of thousands last year on the season but I can't justify it in my mind for everything these basketball programs have all done for me.

Keep in mind the pattern response to maritime continent forcing in Nov/Dec is very different vs mid/late winter.
