46 here…we will see about getting down into the 30s tonight. Some rain is moving in so that might make it tough with cloud cover and precip.

Might get there... the ECMWF shows temps hovering around 40 through the night.

Nice!

Your fall color looks WAY behind there.  That is going to change real quick now.

It's actually only just starting and some of that is lighting. Lewiston at 745-800ft oddly enough seems to get better color than we do, and a few weeks sooner than us. Perhaps the trees in the valley are less used to chill? But it is wierd going to town in Sept and seeing amazing color when everything is green here. Trick or treating at Hells Gate on Saturday was pretty and the foliage at our church there is gorgeous. We're usually pretty late.

Arctic front is slightly more advanced at hour 144 vs 12z at that time.   If that thing punches through it's going to get really fun.

Both the 18Z EPS and control run shifted a little more to the south and west compared to the 12Z run... continuing a trend in all the models today.

Wow!  The control and EPS mean are both much better looking on the surface high complex at hour 144 vs 12z.  Stronger and more advanced southward.

Down to 37F already. It would probably be quite a chilly night if it stayed clear, but I think it should cloud up in the coming hours. I rescued the last raspberries, tomatoes, and eggplants of the season today so I guess it can freeze now.

Glad to see a trend southwards but I hope it trends east again

Yeah... its a fine line.    Shift a little too far west and we end up with southerly flow.

Dude, it's like 104F in Maryland right now.

Think about what you just asked and then go to time-out.

Haha my mistake I always get @Philand @Phishy Wx mixed up. Meant to ask Phishy since they are in EWA.

Definitely looks like we are shaping up to have a below normal temperature pattern for most of November based on ensembles.

With Nina clearly forecast to weaken into January, I am wondering if Nov/Dec will be the best of winter this year. Especially since cold Novembers typically don't usually lend themselves to cold January's.

I personally love front loaded winters so I'm all for it. Gives a holiday feel leading up to the new year and lots of mountain snow to play with.
