Pretty colorful national temperature departure map for the first half of November. Obviously the temperatures get scaled by the departures, but still cool to see the extremes on both halves. Montana has been a bit chilly so far.

PDX already at 39 at 6pm. I wonder how cold they'll get before the wind picks up.

Think the wind is there to stay for now. I’d be surprised if they go much below 35-36 tonight. But that’s pretty decent for a well mixed atmosphere this early in the season. Yeah I know 1955, you also happened.

The cold went south. Tim was right. 😢

Tell that to people in Winthrop and the Okanogan area, where temps were below zero. And I still have snow on the ground in Leavenworth.  Oregon may have had stronger anamolies, but Washington had some cold too.

Been a pretty cold pattern for everywhere in the western half of the country really.

I'm surprised Troutdale is down to 37 with east winds gusting to 35mph+

Sarcasm!  It has been a cool start to November. -4F here at mid month.

36.3 here with gusty east wind. Not raging with those huge roaring gusts like earlier, but it will be soon enough.

That's a pretty cold wind considering the real CAA hasn't begun yet.

GFS ensembles definitely not on board with the mega ridge in the long range

The GEFS and EPS have been very different the GFS operational runs.  Blocking resetting near the Aleutians and Western GOA.

Bellingham is at -6.8.  That is really impressive stuff for a half a month average.  SEA is at -5.5 which isn't bad either.
