Snow has become much drying the last 30 minutes and the temp has fallen more. What remarkable evening of weather.

I wish it could be more widespread.  Really depressing for some on here.

Long time lurker, first time poster. It’s been a blast learning from you all! Mostly back to snow now in Loyal Heights/Ballard. Sticking to cars and grass again after a long bout with heavy rain. Maybe we aren’t done with this after all! Now it will be really hard to get to sleep…

Welcome to the chaos! ❄️

Directv dish is officially blocked with snow.

We have an HD receiver and a standard receiver... only because they wouldn't remove the other one for free.   But it comes in handy during snowstorms because there is a setting on DirectTV to show the non HD version of every channel and the standard receiver is not affected by snow for some reason.   I see two versions of every channel.   HD ones aren't working right now but the other ones are normal.

Folks, this is WILD!  I couldn’t stand seeing a 50/50 snow mix at my house any longer so I got in my car and drove from 55th up to 145th on I-5. Complete change to snow happens by 100th and by 145th it’s DUMPING and I5 is completely snowcovered with well over an inch on the ground. I’ve never seen conditions change that fast without an elevation change. Back at my house and the temp has dropped a degree in 20 minutes and it’s more like 90% snow now. Come on down snow!!!

The CZ is such an interesting phenomenon!

Elevation 580’ Location a few miles east of I-5 on the Snohomish Co side of the Snohomish/Skagit border. I love snow/cold AND sun/warmth!

We've all been there. I've watched your area get blasted with nice dry snow while I had clear sky. It would really suck if there wasn't anything on the horizon my friend.

32.2 here and still falling as rain. Hoping the cold slides south a bit more! Just a few more degrees!

This area can be tremendously frustrating in these cases.  Actually colder than places that are getting snow.  Tomorrow night should be much friendlier to us.

Excuse my French but it is pissing rain in down town Tacoma. Of course I prefer snow but a nice cold rainy night can be nearly as cozy, at least it isn’t heatdome-ageddon. Can’t lose sight of the little things.

I have a feeling that tomorrow into Thursday could be your time to shine snow-wise... fingers crossed!

Hope so. Don’t feel to bad. It’s been a slushy mess here and my elevation is not helping me much. Hard to believe areas north of the u village going better than here.

I believe there's some sort of internal sever issue that's delaying the output. I feel ya, us southerners are banking on it this week

No fuckiing way. The ppl working at the NWS need to be fired. U can’t remove and add WSW like this

OMG that's hilarious. It's not even WSW criteria unless it fits the fast accumulation guidelines. Even then, I think a WWA would be more appropriate.

And not mention the hood canal where 6-10 inches has fallen  with thunder snow.  This is by far the worst they have ever done.

I honestly feel bad for them in scenarios like this. They can't win.

This was a tremendously difficult storm to forecast but it does look like in the end we’ll end up with a huge gradient starting around downtown up to Everett just like the models predicted, except it was supposed to be turning to rain right now, not the other way around. Only thing we don’t know yet is how much we’ll end up with by morning.

Not totally sure without seeing the latest ECMWF... but the HRRR current 925mb temp map sort of explains the observations here.

Looks like I might avoid the warm spike here at least.  Still just above freezing.  Pretty hollow victory though.
