If you are banking on November to Make or break a winter you will almost always been disappointed. Just be glad we could be looking at a dynamic month, and some stuff to pay attention to

as we move closer to PRIME time.

Do you mean February or April?

I don’t think they were shitty. We are going to see a very chilly period coming up. Just the reality of models backing away from feet of snow and 0 degree temps.

In reality, that's a fair statement and anyone with half a frogs brain cell knew that wasn't going to happen. But the tone of the board was noticeable.

A clear 34F with frost here! First frost of the season, and barrelling straight towards my first freeze here in the next couple hours.

I’m sorry but the pattern next week would not deliver sub freezing highs. I don’t care what the GEFS ensemble says, people need to get real.

Totally agree with you and the fork you’ve been polishing obsessively since September.

Wow, 34 there already in the city? That's impressive! Seems like it's around 42 degrees here right now

Even if that would happen, and Eugene would be only lowland city to score, the real pity of it is that it wouldn’t stop the regulars there from griping how it never snows there.

Not all of us.

I expect zero out of this, but it is fun to see colorful snow maps that won't verify this early in the season. I'm just worried that the most anomalous system of the season could arrive 4 weeks early and be wasted. I'd be happy if Eugene gets enough flakes to make a snowball.

My fave is the 32.5˚F rain. I have experienced it. More than once.

The most miserable weather experience of my life was February 22-24, 2014.

February 22: 0.56" precip, Hi: 36F, Low: 31F (before precip arrived)
February 23: 0.87" precip, Hi: 34F, Low: 33F
February 24: 1.09" precip, Hi: 35F, Low: 33F

60 hours straight of snow mixed with rain, no accumulation, 2.52" of precipitation total. If I went two miles north there was 8" of snow on the ground, but there was next to nothing at my house. Bellingham was buried and to the south was in the upper 30s, low 40s but my house was the battleground.

Gracias-- looks like some outlying metro suburbs and foothill areas could be in the 2-4 inch 36 hour totals.

Same exact thing here with the third snow in Feb 2019.  I had freezing snow mixed with rain, and JUST to the north they got buried.

Totally inverted pattern.  Things like this can be quite chilly in cases where cold is already in place.  Interesting times coming up.

He might have a problem right out of the gate with this month.

I love how he isn't afraid to make predictions though and put it out there. I disagree with him on February having the best chance of an Arctic Blast. I think December and January have better chances and I'm still really bullish on January this winter delivering.

What a lackluster run to be honest in comparison from the previous several. We have only 24-30 hours if there are to be any sudden model changes with the cold air source and arctic trough to not dig down off Alaska and then slide south off the BC Coast. Too much onshore moderation. I wouldn't expect any such changes, but dang it would be nice.
