Dunno but I hear the bakery in Twisp makes pretty good cinnamon twisps.

I went to Winthrop (?) once. November of 2016. My wife was pregnant and we had camped along Icicle Creek near Leavenworth the night before, drove up to I believe Wintrop through what I think was the Methow Valley, there was snow on the ground and some rain/snow mix. Then had lunch in OMAK, ended up driving down into the Oregon and camping again that night on the North Fork of the John Day River, the next morning was very cold. Fun memories, perhaps we drove through TWISP and didn't realize it .

Very raw night out.  38 degrees and .35" in the rain bucket so far.  And my beloved golden retriever who used to absolutely hate getting wet, was hell bent on going for her daily walk.

It is going to be gusty and with some snow across the Columbia Basin.  Anyone driving out there, be careful.  These are courtesy of NWS Spokane.  Wind gusts into the 60s with snowy conditions is a recipe for bad things if people don't pay attention.

They're saying here the snow should be melted primarily by the time the wind really ramps up, but if deciduous trees get stressed by heavy wet snow tonight, high winds tomorrow night will not be good for them,  fortunately the birch and maple trees close to my house have lost about 75% of their leaves already

Starting to think some of those snow maps for Sunday morning might not be just phantom snow. Tonight ended up being only 1˚C colder than modeled, and the snow level is down around 500 feet in Metro Vancouver. Sunday morning is modeled to be just a notch colder yet, and according to the GFS there will be precip still going on. We shall see.

These stratiform warm front situations often over-perform and surprise.   Its a different set up on Sunday and Monday with a ULL rotating onshore.     Not to say that can't surprise too.

We’re almost always slower to warm up and slower to cool down than modeled. That helped today and won’t help this weekend.

My point is that it’s a marginal set-up (at least up here) on Sunday morning. Really as bad to say it will definitely be rain as it is to say it will definitely be snow. Could easily go either way.

Only time I was ever in Okanogan County was driving through to Kelowna, BC when I was a little kid. My memories of it are very very vague to say the least.

Would like to go back at some point but it is kind of remote and far away from everywhere.

My plantation has been leveled and the purified air I was breathing because of this wide leafy plant is gone!!! I was doing my part to keep the air healthy locally.

41* and .25 precipitation

Not something you see often around here. Due to current flow we’re experiencing a double rain shadow. First being around Oak Harbor and Camano Island areas and the second from Tacoma to Olympia areas. Per the models this will eventually shift south and Central Sound will get shadowed and SW WA getting the heavy precips.

We went into some bar in Omak for lunch, but they only served alcohol no food (In Oregon apparently its the law if you serve alcohol you must serve food.). So I had a drink because I was a drunk in 2016, my wife was pregnant did not, and then we went across the street to some diner and had lunch.

This is a pretty unusual situation we have for wind here, so I don't have a good feel for it.  ECMWF suggests sustained low to mid 20s MPH with gusts into the 40s.
